We spent 4 nights at the Summerland Waterfront Resort in late August. It was our third stay at this facility, the last one having been in 2012. Despite wanting to love this place, we’re starting to wish there was a viable alternative at this location. It’s an absolutely lovely spot and should have everything going for it that makes it great. It genuinely saddens us that things seem to be on a progressive downhill slide.
Last year we were assigned a Studio Suite which was incredibly cramped with a balcony that was virtually unusable. This year since we were traveling in peak season (full price) and because no (lake view) 1 Bedroom suites were available; we reluctantly booked a Studio Suite again. We were surprise to be assigned a suite with a much better layout and a real balcony.
Our initial enthusiasm was dampened when we took in the condition of the suite. The carpets are worn and badly stained; the couch and chair, not much better. We understand it was a very busy time, but housekeeping was obviously not keeping up. The same lint and dust were in the same place on the carpet on our 4th night as on the 1st.
We are not overly “picky” and at a discounted price would probably be prepared to accept the shortcomings. Regrettably, this will have been our last stay.More
