“wow the platinum standard for B and B's”
Reviewed 14 September 2009

Catbird ridge was my first experience with a b and b - and it is the new standard. The hosts are delightful, the property magical, the breakfasts have to be eaten to understand how spectacular they are and the bed and linen better than any I have ever experienced in a 5 star hotel.
We would go back in an instant don't hesitate to book this tranquil spot you will not be disappointed!

We can't say enough good things about the Catbird, everything was quality, the house, the decor, the food and especially the hosts. We stayed here quite unexpectedly in July 2009 because of the forest fire at Westbank (we couldn't get to Kelowna) but how some bad luck turned into good luck. Emily and Barry have excellent knowledge on many subjects especially the good wineries to go to and other local attractions. Emily's breakfast was wonderful and we left wishing we had stayed there for a week. One night wasn't enough to experience all that the Catbird has to offer and should we be passing that way again then we will definately be stopping for longer.

I have to agree with everything that has been written above. We booked this because we were impressed by their website, but the place exceeded expectations. Emily & Barry were very welcoming and very helpful, and the breakfasts have to be experienced to be believed! Our only regret was that we had only booked for two nights. We left assuring our hosts that in a few years time we will come back for longer.

It was love at first sight when we pulled into the driveway at Catbird Ridge. Emily and Barry greeted us and we immediately felt right at home. The bed was so comfortable, we could have slept all day! But skipping breakfast would have been a mistake - it was the perfect set-up for a day of sightseeing and wine tasting. We will definitely stay at the lovely Catbird Ridge again.

Being on a round trip thru BC & Alberta, we spent 2 nights at Emiy's & Berry's home. Great place to live... This BB definitely fits the best hotel standards: air conditionning, internet access, satelite TV, best of canadian breakfast, spacious room & bathroom ... and interesting discussions on different national & international subjets ... amazing

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at this top-end B & B in the heart of Okanagan Wine Country. The facilities are top rate, the rooms super quiet, and the beds beyond comfortable. Needless to say, we slept like babies. Attention to detail is obvious throughout the B&B. It is tastefully decorated, clean and spacious.

Catbird Ridge is designed for comfort and privacy. The owners, Barry and Emily, have living quarters separate from the guests. Numerous decks are available for guests looking for shaded or sunny nooks to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The clean, modern pool is perfect for cooling down after a stroll. Hummingbirds continously flit around bird feeders while quails dart around the paths and catbirds call from the natural stands of trees and bushes. Early one morning I saw a deer at the back of the house.

Gourmet breakfasts are served in a common dining room. For the 7 mornings we were there, no breakfast was repeated, not even the choice of fruit juices - which ranged from cantaloupe to apple/pear to jamaica. Local produce, including organic greens, fruit and eggs, were used to their fullest potential in Emily's breakfast creations.

Emily and Barry are engaging hosts, though never intrusive, with a great knowledge of the area. Their restaurant recommendations, including our favourites, the start-up Victoria Road Bistro and the Vanilla Pod, were invariably superb suggestions.

We can't speak highly enough of Catbird Ridge B&B. It met and then exceeded our expectations.

  • Liked — Breakfasts and BEDS!
  • Disliked — Breakfasts tended to be served later, but Emily did accomodate our requests for earlier starts to the day.

Stayed here in July 2008 and it was that great that we ended up staying for 10 nights. Emily and Barry are fantasic hosts, they know the area really well and will suggest places to go and restaurants to eat at. Rooms are beautifull very tastefully decorated. The breakfasts are out of this world everything is home made and tastes fantastic. Spent a lot of time in the pool and sitting in the garden, where we saw deer, chipmonks, hummingbirds - really relaxing. Will definately do back again great value for money. If you want to chill out and just relax this is just the place.
