“Flawless wedding and great time fishing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2013

I got married at the Fraser River Lodge at the end of June and it was absolute perfection. We chose this venue because of the location and the incredible views. Wendy and Jenna were so helpful along the way responding to emails quickly and allowing us to bring family to see the venue several times. The food is amazing and the staff is top notch...all of our guests were blown away with the quality of food and level of service by all of the staff. This is not your usual banquet/wedding venue and food - it's on a completely different level. We rented all rooms at the lodge plus the Outpost Lodge for our wedding party and everyone loved their rooms. They even allowed guests to bring their trailers to camp on the property to avoid having to drive or cab home. The honeymoon suite is very romantic. You have the option of having the lodge provide breakfast in the morning but we opted not to and just brought fruit and pastries instead. The lodge does however provide coffee and tea in the lounge in the morning. I organized a last minute sturgeon fishing day trip for hubby and his family a couple of days after the wedding. Frank took my husband, his brother and dad plus his two young nephews out for the day. Frank was an incredible guide and had great patience with the excited young nephews and they were lucky enough to catch a couple of good sized Sturgeon. Hubby is talking about organizing another trip with Frank very soon because they had such a great time.
I would highly recommend the Fraser River Lodge. A big thanks to Wendy and staff for organizing the best day of our lives and to Frank - those boys are still talking non stop about the sturgeon trip.

Just spent 2 days sturgeon fish for our sons 16th birthday celebration. Fantastic lodge! Great food prepared by Lucky. Ranks right up there with any gourmet restaurant. Staff are friendly and make you feel relaxed and at home. Our guide Brad worked his butt off to find the big ones for us and after a slow start we nailed two at 7'6" & 7'11" . What a thrill for our son (and us as well)! We will recommend to all our friends. Were there any negatives? Not enough time to try salmon fishing! Will plan that for our next stay.

Thanks to Frank, Sandra, Brad and the rest of the staff

Room Tip: Honeymoon suite has a king bed and huge spa tub to rest your aching muscles after landing a big one.

I recently visited the lodge for a few days on a fishing trip and cannot recommend it highly enough. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to fish all over the world and nothing tops the experience I had at Fraser River Lodge. Absolutely outstanding guides, staff, accommodation, service and food - and the fishing and scenery where just off the scale amazing. Frank, thank you for the experience of a lifetime and I'll definitely be back!!!!

We've been coming periodically since 2008. The lodge is beautiful, very well kept and superbly located. Huge windows take advantage of the scenery. We always come as fishermen so food is always part of the deal. The food is always top notch. Even when there we literally the on,y two guests one night, we got the full chef treatment. These aren't line cooks tossing basic food at the guests. These are chefs from the world of haute cuisine delivering fine dining meal after meal. I have had some of the finest meals ever in this lodge and that is saying something.

Love the well appointed bathrooms and the heated tile floors. The beds, despite ours being singles, are very comfortable and the linens are top shelf.

The fishing has always been excellent. My son described the two days this trip as the best days of his life. We hooked loads of sturgeon including one approaching 8 ft. Jay Gibson rocked it for us on a cold wet spring day. A lesser guide would not have been up to the task of finding fish and keeping us happy. The equipment was all excellent including the lodge supplied brand new waders. Frank, the owner, exudes enthusiasm and its contagious.

Two suggestions...new TV's and stronger wireless in the rooms.

Can't wait for the next trip.

We recently attended a wedding at the lodge. It was a beautiful setting for the wedding, great food and nice rooms. The king size bed was very comfortable. Really nice, clean bathroom. This is not a hotel so it does not have all the amenities. They put the coffee on for us in the morning but we could not get breakfast there. I would assume that if you are booking the fishing packages all your meals are included. The views are amazing and if you want to get away from
it all this would be the place to do it. Walking along the river or in the country setting is beautiful. You are only a 10 minute drive to Harrison Hot Springs so if you want to go out for dinner or go to the beach you are really close. I think this is one of the nicest places to stay in the area.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a beautiful view of the mountains, river and fields.

My husband, my two year old, and I joined friends at a recent autumn wedding at the lodge. The office was hard to find and the staff super laid back and casually dressed. Not staying the latter is necessarily a bad thing. The humongous room keys and confusing directions to our room made us chuckle. They do have an elevator, which I shouldn't be impressed by because it should be standard, however I was impressed none the less. The room was beautiful with nice crisp white linens and bathroom with a shower and bathtub/shower. There were cobwebs in the bathroom corner, shoes left under the bed from a previous guest, and the plug for the sink was absolutely disgusting with sediment and what I assume was mold. Rooms have two twins made into a king and another twin on the other wall. The view was really neat. The rooms have large windows which overlook the deck and floodplain, the river, and roaming bison. The doors open right to the outside where there are heat lamps and lounge chairs. Really liked the set up except guests smoked in front of their rooms so it was right beside our room. That made me angry because I have a child and also a friend with decreased lung function. A note about the honeymoon suite, the only difference is the gigantic bathtub so think about that when you look at the price. I did not see the other accommodations during my stay.

A warning about eating here. We found out too late that meals have to be ordered in advance (how much advance, I did not get an answer). They were happy to tell me that our breakfast would be on Sunday and I asked about Saturday and they could only suggest places in town. I asked this on Friday evening. So bring a cooler (no fridges in rooms) and plenty of snacks. The food, by chef Corey Fields, was excellent. It pleased all ages. Not sure how much was the bride and grooms decision on what to serve. We had a rehearsal dinner, brunch, and wedding cocktail hour and reception meals. The mashed potatoes were a highlight, so were the scrambled eggs and vegetable medley. The wedding desserts were especially good too and there was a lot of variety. Although the food during cocktail hour was good, with crab stuffed mushrooms (staff could not tell us if there was mayo in it and did not offer to find out), roast beef with horseradish on a mini Yorkshire pudding, they were not ready for the guests half hour after the ceremony. They must have known the time but it was confusing for guests if there was food coming or when drinks would be ready.

Overall, a beautiful place to have a wedding, if you enjoy a family style, laid back atmosphere and your guests can roll with it, then consider taking a vacation here or even having your wedding here. Last thing to mention, It's 20 minutes from Harrison Hot Springs.

We spent three-days fishing and had our wedding there. You cannot miss this one, the staff and owners (Jeff and Patrick) were amazing. The food, accommodation and setting is right out of a story book. The boats, equipment and fishing guides were very knowledgeable and professional. Even when the fishing was tough the Fraser River Lodge still managed to put quality fish on the end of your line. This is a MUST go.

Room Tip: The main lodge has the best room but for families rent the outpost.
