Description: The Kitchen Witch is located in an historic two-room schoolhouse built in 1832.The school building has been lovingly restored to authentic 19th Century decor. It features the original hardwood floors, trim and wainscotting throughout as well as gorgeous double-hung paned windows which admit lots of natural light and a breathtaking view. Beautifully decorated, it features antique wooden tables and pressback chairs, lovely wallcoverings and window treatments and vintage prints.Established in 1980, The Kitchen Witch Tea Room developed a tremendously loyal clientele of repeat customers, comprising both summer visitors and local residents. It has offered a tempting menu of sandwiches served on home-baked breads, freshly-ground coffee and a variety of teas.We have owned and operated The Kitchen Witch since 2006. We have a completely separate and fully equipped gluten-free kitchen. We do not serve fast food, and there is no deep-fried food here at all. We cook almost entirely from scratch, so depending on your order and any orders ahead of yours it may take some time. Please, if you are in a hurry, let your server know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We understand if you are in a hurry and need to come back another time when you are in less of a rush. We have games on the table, including peg games, crosswords, sudoko, word search and cryptoquick. Children’s menus with crayons, and adult colouring pages with colour pencils are available on request.

Just a note my wife and I visited the island, and my wife found this restaurant in the travel brochures. There is no deep fried food here so be prepared to eat healthy. The food and service was excellent, I had the enchiladas, and a pork tamale. As well on the second day I had the sausage gumbo. It was delicious and my wife was also able to eat Gluten Free as well. What a treat to get some authentic Tex Mex food (mildly spiced) but I was able to spice it to the max as they have a fine selection of Habanero salsas from mild to XXX. Great people and very accomodating. I look forward to my next trip to the island, this will be a must stop. Ps. the second day we went and were able to eat outside at a picnic table with our 3 little dogs. Very nice!

I am a vegan and was enthused at all of the great options there was for me to order! Upon entering we were immediately greated with a friendly smile and welcomed into the dining area. All of the staff were very nice, and the owner went above and beyond to help us have the best experience that we could have. My dinner was very yummy, and the dessert was awesome! Being vegan it is usually tough to find something I can eat, little lone have so many options and owners that care about serving healthy, local, primarily organic food. Don't let the outside appearance of the restaurant sway your decision on dining here, if you want to have a nice home cooked meal and be treated like family, go here! A beautiful little place :)

Tired of all the commercial restaurant who serves the exact same thing? This is the place for excellent food and gluten-free meal! If peoples in PEI are consider friendly in general, this place is super-friendly!

Home cooking and friendly service make this place just like home. The witches have a special treat for small children. Don't go for quantity but for the quality.

Interested in flea market? Don't go there, because your will be amazed by the decor filled with antique and unusual object. Want to try the xylophone? Go right ahead.

We are bewitch.

Had lunch with my extended family. I had the whole grain French toast which was the best I've ever had. My husband and teenage boys said that this was "totally a hippie joint" and "where's the meat?" They were disappointed in the limited choice of "normal food". They've eaten at small places around the world and like to try new things but this menu was focused on "organic" and "gluten free" and less on taste. My in-laws are vegetarian and felt that the food was "good", "fine".

We have visited Kitchen Witch for years.......but the last two years have skipped it.
The outside is very rundown...not welcoming at all.
Cluttered entry
I know you want to save money by just looking after the inside but it would be so much more welcoming if the outside was painted and looked after .....

This 2014 season has been a disaster for all businesses who are not in Charlottetown. I have spoken to other business owners all across the island. Some of them have sales as much as 15% lower than last season. Any business not is Charlottetown is suffering. There will be even more small businesses closing after this disastrous season. We are doing our best, but our sales are down as well. At this point we are struggling and will have to cut back on our hours nest year. If the hours were not already posted we would have already cut back.

I notice you complain about the outside and say you have not been inside for two years. I find it very hard to understand why someone would write such a hurtful review when they did not even come inside.

I have spent this summer apologizing that we cannot afford to fix up the outside. We work very hard to provide good food using local ingredients and organic as much as possible. Most people appreciate that and tell us the outside is part of the charm.

If you want manicured lawns, a pristine entryway and no clutter go to an upscale restaurant and pay $50+ a person or go to McDonalds. If you want good old fashioned home cooking at a reasonable price come to the Kitchen Witch. We also offer the most extensive vegetarian and vegan menu on the Island as well as a separate gluten free kitchen.
