Here's the thing, it's not another sterile marble palace in the Yucatan - Casa Blat'Ha' s elegance is in its simplicity and its grace. Located on a very quiet and sparsely populated end of Isla Holbox, it takes you far from your everyday life and yet makes you feel at home. You are merely steps from the most beautiful and nearly deserted beach I've had the pleasure to walk in decades. The water is shallow and gentle, and sparkles in more shades of turquoise and blue than I know names for. By day the skies are full of terns, frigate birds and pelicans, and the nights are blanketed by stars. If that's not enough, you're a fifteen minute walk or five minute taxi ride from all that town has to offer.
The staff was patient, sweet, lovely and cheerful, and can they cook! -- In a just short while they seemed able to anticipate our needs. Daniel and Patty thoughtfully provided just about anything we needed - from purified water, to all the stuff week needed for the beach - chairs, big straw hats, and big thirsty towels.
I'd return to Blat'Ha gladly.
