“Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

We have just finished our first meal at this petit spot and could not be happier. This is our second last night on Isla Holbox and we will definitely dine here again. The husband and wife team were so welcoming to us (not so great at spanish) and patient while we practised ordering our meals. We were delighted with the portion sizes and freshness of ingredients. This truly is a gem and worth a visit if you are brave enough to venture off the sand and the predictable meals served in the hotels and into the main square.

“Outstanding Yucateco”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

Holbox has an abundance--in fact, a glut--of restaurants with menus dominated by pasta and pizza. More traditional Yucateco restaurants need to be sought out, and of the few, Miriam's is the best. A congenial atmosphere, family-run, simple and cheerful, and serving food that is well prepared, traditional cuisine. We sampled many dishes over the two weeks of our stay, with the pescado entero al la plancha and the camarones a la diabla (serious, character-building heat) were among the best. The pescado entero, which we shared, was arranged an hour before as we strolled around the town, and we returned for a superb and substantial feast (after the presentation of the fish before it was grilled, for our approval, of course). Muy delicioso. Beer, no vino.

“Holbox's best deal”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

This is your typical hole in the wall kind of place. Good, wholesome, tasty and rightly-priced food.
There aren't many cheap restaurants in Holbox that are appealing but this Mom-and-Pop style restaurant is. Taste sime fish prepared in different scrumptious ways, tacos, chicken and a few things more. Ample menu with lots of daily specials. Cheap beer too.

Perfect for lunch or early dinner. It's not a fancy place at all and has only 4 tables outside but well worth it. The owners are nice and soeak some english.

Buon provecho !

“Small Typical Mexican”
Reviewed 14 December 2013 via mobile

A very basic place with plastic chairs and tables outside, and some inside. A very varied, low cost menu, with meals of the day. We had quesadillas, soup and burritos. No complaints.

“An oil soaked breakfast”
Reviewed 29 June 2013 via mobile

The breakfast we had (omletes and empanades) were so oily and generally not that good. Some of the vegetables in the omlete were canned, and the place just doesnt look very clean to me.
