“Wonderful Sanctuary!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2014

I have had the good fortune of staying at some of the world's finest beach properties. I must say that Privillage Praia is one of my top five places anywhere and is a real gem. Family owned and run, this charming, peaceful and intimate place set in a lush tropical forest right on the ocean has everything going for it.

The owners, Vinicius and Andrea are attentive and warm and their staff well trained and genuinely seem to care about their guests. Whether you find yourself by the pool or walking around the gorgeous well kept grounds you often feel like it is your very own private hideaway. Food is first rate and at breakfast there is an impressive array of delicious daily freshly baked goods and other fare. My room was comfortable and spotless with a wonderful supportive high end mattress which made me sleep like a baby! All the amenities one would expect from a top flight place like this are there including flat screen TV and cable, refrigerator, safe etc. My porch on the second floor had a hammock where I found myself reading and relaxing when not by the pool or swimming in the warm waters of the Atlantic just steps from the room. If you're looking for total relaxation and a sanctuary to rejuvenate you've come to the right place!

Dear Mark, Andrea and I appreciate, from our heart, your words of praise, especially coming from a photographer of such wonderful quality, whose cool professional analysis must have been balanced by the heat of the new friendship. It has been great to meet you and watching you piloting the drone, (I've already posted the aerial photo of the hotel). Thanks!

We stayed here in November 2013 for about 8 days.

What really did it for us, our 1 year old, and my mother and father (who are in their 60s) was the location. For those who want the minimum of effort in getting to the beach, be it because you have a baby or because one of the party is not 100% mobile (we had both in this case), this is the place. Not only is the beach a stone's throw away (literally) but there is seldom more than a couple of people more on this section given the location.

The 'staff' (this is a family business where the friendly owners are directly involved in the dad to day running and making sure guests feel at home) were very attentive.

Good food and privacy are other plus points. It's a small place in terms of the number guests but very spacious so you feel at ease - rarely if you want to go in the swimming pool or use one of the hammocks is someone else doing so.

The town is a short drive away, and you can walk up the beach for about 10 minutes to find other restaurants if you don't fancy eating at the restaurant there for lunch and dinner.

Do not expect to find plush rooms - while they were perfectly comfortable and had everything we needed, they were simple.

The wireless internet is meant only to be accessible from close to the reception area but we found our room (across the road, up the hill slightly) got a reasonable connection.

Try Boi Nos Aires (Argentine steak restaurant in the town) for a meal out - the Pousada recommended it to us and we weren't disappointed.

We travelled to here from England via a stay with family in Rio for five days. To call it paradise is an understatement - set adjacent to a sandy beach the accommodation both inside and outside is of top quality with an emphasis on comfort. The swimming pool is a good size and the restaurant serves excellent food. The sea is warm!!
The nearby town is a 10 min taxi ride away but we had no need to go there other than for a few hours as tourists. For lunch, either snack at the restaurant or a stroll up the beach will give access to a variety of beach cafes, all serving excellent food, especially fish
The staff are typical Bahians - always friendly and helpful. The senior managers all speak English so language is no problem and you can always resort to 'Google translate' if needed. A really great place to build up a store of energy.
Our weather was wall to wall sunshine all day - the sun rises at 5.30am and a whole plethora of bird life comes alive amongst the palms and flowers. The main attraction for the birds is that there are no cats here..!!
Thank you to all at Privillage.

Room Tip: We had a double room for the two of us, overlooking the garden and on the first (top) floor. Can...

Dear new friends M and C , first of all let me tell you that we feel good to know that you've reached home in safe condition and healthy.
Second, thank you so much for your kind words about us and the hotel. It will be always a pleasure to have you both among us. Now, imagine this: we are in the third day of continuous rain (yes, "that" happens here too!...) that began the day after your check-out! We're coming into warm days, and rain will be falling, each day, in smaler showers. Summer promises to be great, and we shall miss you here. Best wishes for you both, who certainly learned the joy of living.

My family and I had a fabulous week at this heavenly kingdom.
The owners of the Privillage, along with everyone that works there went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The room accomodations are fabulous and extremely comfortable. The food is phenomenal. There are freshly baked good at every meal. The cocktails are made with a variety of fresh fruits. And the service could not have been better. We can't wait to go back!! It is very romantic and an absolute paradise.

Room Tip: Along with the beautiful rooms, there are wonderful cottages on the premises. The next time I bring...

This is place is really magic: first of all, the location is actually a real privilege; located in one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches of the entire Porto Seguro area, (Praia da Pitinga), a perfect place to relax enjoying nature, listening to the ocean - the Pousada Privillage is located directly a couple of steps from the beach. Second, the facilities are really cozy, modern and extremely well integrated with the environment; several original trees, palms, and flowers. The rooms are modern, well maintained, and very very clean. At last but not least: the service is at the highest level! The staff is, without a single exception, very well trained, thus highly efficient and super motivated. Everybody always with a nice smile on their faces. Service is fast and precise. The owners are so nice, are permanently watching every detail, so that the guests feel extremely well hosted, like at home. Many guests become real friends of the house, and it is amazing to see that some many are staying there for the 'n' time since years. Meal service at international level, and all the receipts developed directly by the owner, who is also a great cook. Delicious cakes are baked daily at the house by his wife. Hard not gain extra kilos! My personal recommendation: "Muqueca de Robalo com Camaroes", typical Brazilian fish dish cooked with seafood delicatessen and special ingredients. Definitely the best choice! Worth going there even if it is just to spend several days at the hotel.

Room Tip: Try the "Master Suite". Good enough for a family up to the three kids, but very romantic i...

This is a fantastic resort that has all the amenities (pool, directly on the beach, restaurant/bar, areas to relax, etc). Great atmosphere, peaceful, lush tropical setting. If anything the pictures does not do this pousada justice. Excellent breakfast included. Staff is excellent and provides outstanding service without being intrusive. The owners even offered us home made cachaca and gravlax during dinner one night - delicious.
The resort is only 15 minutes away from the restaurants and night life in Arraial d'Ajuda. The resort will book you a cab.
We felt the prices were excellent value for our money.
We stayed for 5 days in December 2012 and wish we could have stayed for 5 weeks. Truly a paradise. We will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed at a garden view room with a terrace and hammock. It actually had a distant ocean view and...

Dear Erik, thanks for the compliments. I must say that, for us, more than them, it is important the way guests feel. We try to keep, along with the comfort of a correct small hotel, away from the hustle and bustle and stress. Best wishes for you and you Family, Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year!

A perfect place for any kind of guest. The atmosphere is phenomenal with amazing service. Very charming with obvious attention to detail on everything from the flower on the straw on your batida, to the chita covered menus and beer cosies. A beautiful place with amazing areas to lounge and relax, lovely hammocks and shaded areas. The restaurant makes this place hard to leave, you will want to try everything on the menu! The breakfast is a huge spread of delicious breads, cakes, fruit and extras every day. Great juice and coffee. The staff is lovely and very attentive without even being noticeable. The pool is great, with great music. If you're looking for a unique and special experience stay here!

I hope next time you can go longer on the menu, trying other flavors. We, me and Andrea, appreciate your comments, on my behalf and employees, who are well aware of the great importance that there is in having value recognized.
