Reviewed 27 December 2010

We stayed for a week in December 2010 (2 adults, 3 childen with 5, 11 and 15 years old). Positive points: Location (the beach was very good ,nice reefs around), weather (warm and with a wonderful sun), breakfast was ok, nearly the aquatic park (the best atraction) with freepass for the guests
Negative points: the hotel really are not a resort,The staff was lost , however was friendly. The food was terrible(except the deserts, the best on that week),the room smell humidity, the air conditioner was leaking, after 2 days complaining all day long, they changed our room, good for todlers and kids, but not recomended for teens,

beatiful place. Nice room (ocean view) and gardens, very quiet. The swimming pool is great as the kids club. Far away from town, but good and cheap transportation available. The Eco park is very nice, a lot of fun. I will go back in a heart beat.

We arrive Arraial da Ajuda Eco Resort in Feb, 15, our transfer ocurred just like planed, we gotta a taxi and an special boat to pick us exclusively. The hotel is located across the river Buranhem, so you have to take a boat to cross it, there are public and crowded boats to do so, but the hotel offers a 24 hours boat to cross it for free.

The hotel is completely built with reused materials, since floor, furnitures and even ceiling, you have to keep that clear before book it... dont expect to find fancy furniture and finishies, everything is beautiful, but only for whom know hoe to appreciate eco stuff...

You gotta go! maybe you will find me there

I loved my experience at the Eco Resort. The room was very clean, the breakfast was great and the staff was really nice! The only bad thing about it is being away from the city centre, but that wasn't exactly a problem since they had free buses downtown many times a day and night. We also had free transportation to Porto Seguro, wich was nice and exclusive! We had free access to the Eco Water Park too, wich was great!
I recommend this hotel for a great family vacation, since they have special activities for children!

We stayed in this hotel for a week (2 adults and a child of 2). The hotel has an excellent location, because it is near Arraial da Ajuda center and also as it has a private boat (the balsa) to take you to Porto Seguro.
The breakfast was just excellent and served near the pool. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and found it very good. The restaurant itself was amazing.
The gardens are just lovely and different from everything I have seen, they have metal typical statues along the gardens and that is very interesting to see especially when you are traveling by boat along the riverside.
The beach was not very good but that is common for the Brazilian beaches. The water was warm but very wavy.
Arraial da Ajuda is a small typical village with lots of good and beautiful restaurants and quite a few interesting shops. If you take the boat you can visit Porto Seguro and you will find a completely different and noisy atmosphere. If you want to rent a car you can visit the place where the Portuguese arrive when they first arrived in Brazil and also a lot of places and villages that worth a visit.

I’ll take the opportunity to tell my experience in this hotel.

Positive Points:
- Good Location, near to Porto Seguro and Arrail d´Ajuda.

Negative Points:
- Food: quality/price very bad. Breakfast without variety. If you want to lunch or dinner in the hotel the prices will be too high. Is not worth.
Suggestion: is better to eat in Porto Seguro or Arrail d´Ajuda
- Facilities: Just one word “Terrible”. It is an old fashion hotel, stopped in early eighties.
- Swimming Pool: a little bit dirty
- It seems we are in 3 star hotels!
.
Just for your information, there were several Brazilians complaining about their services.

Important advice: opportunities around 700 €, you may take the risk.

Arraial d’Ajuda Eco Resort is a charming hotel with a fabulous location. I’ve been there with my husband for 2008 carnival and I had a pleasant experience.
The hotel is located in «Ponta do Apaga Fogo», in Arraial d’Ajuda, right in front to porto Seguro, that is in the other side of «Bunharém» river.
The sites are nice, and the gardens surrounding the hotel are very well cared and have several nice places to rest, read, date or simply «stay there doing nothing».
The hotel faces the river and the sea, and its beach is nice with calm waters, because of the «recife», a natural wall of rocks in the sea that doesn’t allows waves to pass trough.
The swimming pool is nice, and big enough for everybody, and it has access to a sauna trough a tunnel in the water.
The place has two open air Jacuzzis, a massage center, a fitness center, a hairdresser, a games room and an internet access point.
It has two restaurants. One serves the breakfast (that is fabulous, not recommended for people on a diet… Believe me!) and lunch (buffet style – pretty good for 35 Reais). The other, named «Apaga Fogo», where dinner is served, is more stylish and cosy but the fob is also very good.
The hotel offers free transfers by boat to Porto Seguro Centre and on a Van to Praia da Pitinga, to Eco Park (a water fun park where hotel guest can go with no charge) and to Arraial d’Ajuda Centre.
But … Oh, yes, theres is a «but», or two…
The rooms are poorly furnished (see the pictures), and are noisy.
I’m a bit picky but when they «wave» me with five stars I want more. I stayed in a standard room, so maybe superior rooms make the difference, but I don’t really believe it. Hope the re-furniture soon, so I can go up grade my points!!!
The music and noise that comes from «Passarela do Alcool», in Porto Seguro, in the other side of the river (but that feels like much nearer…) can put your sleep in danger. Not my case though, I’m blond but I’m not stupid enough to go to Brazil in Carnival to rest. I was there for the sun and the fun, and the music was not a problem, because when I come to sleep nothing gets in my way. But if you are a light sleeper beware, because I believe noise there is not just for Carnival, as Porto Seguro is knowed by being in a party 365 day per year!!!
Overall it seemed to me the best place to stay in Arraial d’Ajuda.
