After visiting the Waitomo Caves my wife and I discovered Roselands more or less by accident. This turned out to be a stroke of luck. We arrived in time for one of their famous barbecue lunches. We had our choice of meat fresh from the grill and could choose freely from a table laden with salads, vegetables, sauces etc. The meat was extremely tender and grilled to perfection. Afterwards we had coffee and a to-die-for carrot cake. This was frankly one of the best lunches we've ever had.
