Words cannot express the way you feel when you arrive at Kamahi Cottage. You are greeted both by the owners and their lovely cat. You
arrive in a peaceful and secluded environment where you can only relax and leave behind all remains of stress and tiredness... After only a few minutes, we already felt the tranquility and serenity and enjoyed every second of our stay.

Beautiful and comfortable cottage, amazing views, the song of birds surrounding you, and excellent food; you cannot ask for more apart from staying longer...

Thanks Liz for your amazing hospitality. We will recommend this place
to all the people we know and if you decide to go and enjoy a romantic escape, make sure you book at least 2 nights as we found that one night just wasn't enough. A must-go and see!

Kamahi Cottage is everything it says it is going to be - and more! Hidden in a spectacular rural Waikato location, Kamahi is private and tranquil. From the moment I arrived, Liz (the owner) was there with a great big smile and a lot of useful information about the region. The cottage itself is just adorable and filled with every little luxury one could hope for - home baking, a DVD collection, luxurious toiletries, gorgeous tea and coffee, chilled New Zealand wine, beautiful furnishings, slippers, robes... the list goes on! The garden is gorgeous and the food (all made to perfection by Liz) was unforgettable. I went to sleep to the lovely sound of a morepork (native owl) outside - magic. My stay at Kamahi Cottage was far too short yet I will remember it for many, many years to come.
Thank you Liz and Evan!!

Kamahi Cottage is the most charming and welcoming place we stayed in New Zealand! Elisabeth Cowan is a truly wonderful host and gives attention to the smallest of detail. Our two nights at Kamahi were filled with comfort and relaxation, delicious food and wine, and the fun of exploring the beautiful Waitomo region. We cannot recommend Kamahi Cottage enough!

The Kamahi Cottage was absolutely amazing!
My wife and I had reservations for one night, and would have changed our plans, and stayed for the rest of the week if they had availability. Liz and Evan were very gracious hosts, with Liz making us the most amazing Valentine's Day dinner, and Evan playing the bagpipes as we watched a beautiful sunset right off the front porch.
The gardens and views made us immediately feel relaxed and rested in the midst of a whirlwind tour of the North Island.
This is definitely one of the most memorable places that we have ever stayed, and a place that we hope to visit again.

A superb location - the accommodation is gorgeously decorated and outfitted - with terrific view and gardens!
If you are going to see Waitomo Caves or nearby area of New Zealand, (North Island, Otorohanga) book yourself into Kamahi Cottage - worth every cent!
