The old lady taking our order was very blur. Spoke to her in Chinese and English, either way, she didn't get it. The wanton soup was tasteless and the wanton was only mediocre. The chicken + cashew was tasty! But there was way too much cauliflower! White rice is charged at $5 for a small bowl. Way to expensive!!!

Far too much cauliflower and veggies in most meals.
Will not go again and otorohanga is in desperate need for a good Chinese restaurant

I have had takeaways from here on many occasions. Generally the food is not particularly bad, but the chinese meals tend to have a lot of cauliflower specifically - almost like the meal is being bulked-up with it. The burgers aren't bad, but I've found Sonny's across the road is much better.

Flying Horse doesn't do EFTPOS either so you will need to pay with cash.

We rolled into town fairly late and everything else was closed except for the Thirsty Weta, which looked overpriced (but we didn't eat there so I can't really judge it). I have to say, the Flying Horse really hit the spot. It's not haute cuisine but as far as reasonably-priced Chinese food goes, it ain't bad!

Cheap meals but unfortunately the chinese dishes all taste the same. Also there is minimal meat in them. It's loaded up with chunky vegies. They are in a new building now which is nicer. Bottom line is if you eat here your better off ordering greasies because the Chinese dishes are average at best.
