Our experience at the lodge was unbeatable! We got what we paid for and more. Very friendly hosts, very clean rooms and very yummy food. Everything you want for a weekend get away. I have to admit I got a fright after I booked and then read a couple of negative reviews but they couldn't be more wrong! If you're not looking for 5 star but just a basic getaway then I cannot recommend this place more. Can't wait to go back!

Last minute booking for myself and my three kids was handled with ease over the phone after researching online. Comfortable rooms...... the showers were a lovely warm blast after the snow blast we received on the ski fields. The beds provided the best sleep of our entire tour of NZ. We also received amazing service from the owners in the offer of a ride to Taupo to catch a connecting bus to Rotorua after we couldn't book tickets for everyone. See you again in the summer!

We booked for a few nights yet the weather turned a bit wild so it was hard to get up onto the mountain to ski. The owners let us change our booking and leave earlier than expected with no penalty. It allowed us to chase the sun. The position was great with the snow field being very accessible esp. for beginners. The king size bed in the family unit was the most comfortable I have slept on for a while. There were DVD's for loan and a spa to relax in. Would love to return to actually see the Mountain.

We spend 3 nights at the adventure lodge in Tongariro in the National Park Village.
We are a couple with a 10 years old daughter.
We had a very pleasurable experience staying at this lodge.
The booking process was a bit complicated as the Web site was hacked and we could not receive the information and communication via email.
Since our arrival Liselle the acting manager was very friendly and accomodating to our needs, giving us good advise.
She help us with the booking of the guide for Tongariro Alpine Crossing with a very professional guide Sarah for the day after.
The accommodation is very adecuate and we had a unit with bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchenette with lots of space.
The place was very clean and well serviced. You can park your car at the door.
Good heating (dual heat pump and central) very convenient for this time of the year.
The breakfast were excellent with plenty of choice and they accommodate the time to your needs as they are used to hikers needs (we had on the day of the crossing as early as 6 am with full cocked breackfast).
The spa located on a purpose built hut ,after a hard day walking was an added commodity. Better to book your session in advance, though as there was few lodges occupied when we were there there was always availability.
As I say, Liselle went the extra mile to made our stay a pleasure and we are very thankful to her.
The tongariro Alpine crossing was hard but very enjoyable and we were very lucky with the weather. We were part of a guided group of 9 people including us, plus two guides and was a really nice day of winter hicking . It is important to do the crossing to have the right gear and be reasonably fit particularly in walking uphill.
The National Park Village we founded quite boring with no much to do,probably due to the ski season not started yet, but we manage to find good restaurants around.
We definitely will come back and highly recommend the adventure Lodge.

This was our second stay. The first for the Tongariro Crossing and this time for the T42. Lorraine and Ron offer a great place to base yourself for all Central Pateau activities and the spa is an added bonus after a long out. Their home cooked breakfast is a nice start to the day, and it was nice to come back to a serviced motel room. Would stay again.

My wife and I booked a 2 day Tongariro Crossing Package with Adventure Lodge. It was excellent value with the cooked breakfast on the morning of our walk, packed lunch and a great dinner to top off the day. Ron and Lorraine were great hosts who looked after all of our needs. We would stay there again if travelling near the Tongariro National Park.

We booked the 2 day package and it excelled expectation. Lorraine and Ron were fantastic, friendly and had a real heart for guests, but not 'in your face'. As independent travellers who like our space it was just right. Food was excellent quality, spa a welcome relaxation and motel room good with good shower. They presented certificate and tee shirt to the 6 of us who did crossing and the quality and fit was great. With their local knowledge, they gave you confidence to do the crossing as you felt in safe hands. Don't expect view from room though, that's for the crossing!
