There are already so many praises and great reviews on Tripadvisor, I better not to repeat the same thing.
It is simply one of my most unforgettable resort stay (although I get used to the sun n sea), my photos tell everything.
Don't miss the Picnic Dinner in the Desert !
Better to go during Winter!

I was a huge fan of these reviews prior to arriving at al maha, therefore I thought I would address the areas less covered by previous reviewers. An area of debate has been the food- on the whole our experience of this has been excellent, 3 courses on offer for both lunch and dinner, with varying menus according to the time of the day. The staff are outstanding. The inclusive activities are also great. We did the nature walk, archery, camel trek and horse riding. The nature walk takes place at 5.30 and involves close examination of tracks and and plants, very informative. The horse riding is, as advised for experienced riders only. I've been riding for 20+yrs and found my horse to be a handful! They are all ex racers and given any chance will be off at a gallop so you need to be in full control, you trek out over the dunes then turn and head for home, at this point the pace increases to a mixture of trot and canter, my horse spent most of the time galloping on the spot as I wouldn't allow him to overtake the leader. Great fun, also a 5.30am activity! Camel riding involves up to 16 camels with 2 riders each, you ride for about 20mins then stop and enjoy a glass of champagne and fruit while the sunsets then ride back again.
The suites are first class with every amenity you could imagine. You have various dining options include desert dining and dining in your suite (they come and set up a table and then serve you course by course). The pool at the spa has not been mentioned much on here but is worth knowing about as it is tucked away, it is a large infinity pool with plenty of loungers. There was only one other couple there when we were there so it is certainly not busy. The pools at the suites are more than plunge pools, you can swim a few strokes to the end. Completely private. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Al Maha, book it now!

After today I would like to redifine the word perfect.  I would like to say it means Al-Maha.

From the personal greeting (complete with introductions to your personal field guide and services staff and then taken in to the cool for a refreshing fruit cocktail and cool wet towel) through to the personal farewell this was an experience that everyone should afford themselves.  There was no detail that Al-Maha had  not considered to make the guests stay memorable.  In fact for us, it is one we will be talking about and referring people to for a long time to come.  How nice it was to be treated in a manner we so often only see celebrities treated to as opposed to a normal every day working person.  This level of service, not based on status was a credit to them.

They had simply thought of everything and this "all inclusive" package is worth every dollar you pay for it.  With all the automatic inclusions, you will be left wanting for nothing.  The only problem staying here you may encounter  is, taking a few extra kilos home with you due to the generous portions of food.  The menu options and quality of the food prepared and served was first class, the attentiveness of the staff left you wanting for nothing, in fact they were so good it was like they knew what you wanted before you did!

The staff were so friendly, engaging, knowledgable and always willing to help with anything.  Nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone.  You couldn't help but be drawn in by their warmth.  Everything in the hotel, the room and the grounds was spotlessly clean.  The temperature comfort settings were excellent at all times, but should it not be to your liking, you can change it.....even the temperature of the water in your own personal swimming pool!  From soft fluffy large towels, to quality products, you simply could not find fault with anything.

The privacy that the bedouin provides is excellent and you are made to feel that you are the only one in the vastness of the desert enjoying this experience. The rooms are so well equipped that if you turned up with nothing, you would lack for nothing and if you happened to forget your clothes, they even have a well priced gift shop that also includes a selection of clothes.

It was such an amazing and personal experience to have that it is actually difficult to put into words enough that will do it justice. We felt that even the website could not capture well enough the experience that you can have at Al-Maha.  You just need to trust that it will more than exceed your expectations when you go.

The spa centre also delivered a first class service based on the individual guests needs which was a great option to be offered. Their willingness to be flexible was genuinely appreciated.

The activities available are well worth engaging in and the willingness of the staff to accommodate your special requests, deserves a special mention.  Anything they can do to make your experience memorable will be taken care of.

To experience the natural wildlife in your very own "backyard" was a personal experience in itself.  The commitment by this group to maintain, nurture, develop and support this amazing environment is noteworthy and one that many others should aim to follow.

In the words of NIKE - I say to you, "Just do it".  You will not regret it.  It is an experience of a lifetime just waiting for you to take up.  So, go on.....do yourself a favour!

We added a night at Al Maha to our 4 night stay in UAE, wanting to see the desert without taking a commercial evening in the desert type tour. This stop was an after thought, but it proved to be the highlight of our visit. The only mistake we made was not planning to stay an extra night, which would have allowed us to really settle in and savor the atmosphere.

Our experience was exceptional across the board. Our suite was private and filled with amenities to add to our comfort: coffee maker, binoculars, excellent bath products, etc. All accommodations offer a private plunge pool and it is heavenly to sit outside (when weather permits) and take in the desert and occasional oryx or gazelle. Two activities per day are included, so the routine feels like a shortened version of a visit to an African safari lodge: up and out early, then lots of down time to relax. We took a camel ride and a ride in the dunes, both of which took about 1 1/2 hours.

The staff was superb. Someone noticed that one of our party had a birthday the week we were there and a cake appeared at dinner one evening. For such a small, remote property, they work very hard on the dining. Dinner was an enjoyable 5 course affair, served al fresco. Breakfast consisted of a buffet supplemented by cooked to order options and lunch was ala carte. The range of offerings was greater than I would have anticipated. As well, the spa services exceeded our expectations.

While we very much enjoyed Dubai, this stop in the desert was magical and allowed us to understand more about the land and how things used to be. Al Maha is a gem and I would recommend a stop to recharge.

This is a truly fab hideaway and a place to visit before you die. We had planned to go to Dubai city thereafter to spend a couple of days at the beach but cancelled our trip and decided to stay longer at the AL MAHA - because everything was just so stunning and special. My husband and I are very frequent travellers both private and for business and we were fortunate enough to have stayed at a series of the best top 5 star hotels and resorts across all continents incl. many times at the Aman Resorts or Banyan Tree. The AL MAHA lacks in nothing compared to these hotels. The staff are so passionate and proud of the work they do and treat you like a true VIP guest. The suites are fantastic hideaways with 100% privacy and each having its own pool etc. The concept is fullboard incl. three meals, snacks etc. The food is really, really great and although there are certain time slots for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you will never ever get a hint that you are late or so (infact, we were always at least 1-2 hours too late for everything due to our jet lag and the staff served us with their greatest pleasure). The outdoor activites which are included in the price are a lot of fun and you have your own guide throughout your stay. Finally, I have to say I cannot emphasize enough how great the staff are - the people working in the restaurant, those bringing you in-room dining, housekeeping, reception - thanks to everyone for giving us such a fantastic time, we will definitely come back!

Room Tip: Ask for a suite with a free view on the desert - you will love it. We had suite Nr 10 with an absilu...

We visited Al Maha for the second time in 12 months.

As with our first visit standards have certainly not dropped. However as the last review stated - "Lost its edge?" - we found on a Thursday night during a corporate event that the staff were pushed beyond any reasonable limits to try and fill the gaps. We can only stress that the staff did a fantastic job at keeping a professional and friendly calm attitude through an evening that did not reflect their own and the resort's usual high standards. The staff never stopped in their endeavours to keep everything tip top and personal but there were not enough hands on deck.

The rest of our stay was simply blissful. The resort is an incredibly peaceful place to be, in a beautiful and unique environment.

The Villas are kept to a very high standard and every detail for your convenience has been thought of. If you think of anything else the staff will accommodate almost any request!

This time we used the Spa which we highly recommend!

We took part in most of the activities from Dune Bashing and Archery to the Camel Trek. All were exceptional.

We would like to stress again that it is the frontline staff that make this resort. Everyone from Check-in, Field Guides, Waiting staff, Buggy Drivers, House Keepers, to the Landscapers and Maintenance personnel are very thoughtful, friendly and professional.

Starwood. You NEED to take more care of your staff. They are priceless! And because of them we will return.

Room Tip: Villa 7 is very private, with a desert view and still reasonably close to the restaurant and lobby...
