We spent the weekend of the Cape Argus cycle ride here. We've been to Cape Town many times, but this was our first stay in Fish Hoek.
I spent most of the weekend feeling very smug that I'd found this great place to stay on Trip Advisor. A very friendly welcome, great location and a really amazing breakfast (we took the cheese muffin recipe with us!) Rosie was a bonus and came with us on a couple of walks.
We had the mountain view room with a nice deck to sit and drink wine and stare at the stars. Next time we're having a sea view, but all the rooms look lovely.
Probably the best place we've stayed in SA - looking forward to next month!

We arrived early for check-in and found ourselves part of birthday celebrations! Tea and cake and lovely people! The guest house is very pretty with lovely views and comfortable and elegant rooms. We ate our evening meal in the garden with great wine from the honesty 'fridge It was our first night this trip and we couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome back to sunny South Africa

I cannot praise this little guesthouse highly enough, and would go so far as to say that their hospitality and guesthouse is actually faultless. Although we were only able to stay one night, we were made to feel like long lost friends. Even before we arrived, we were heartened by the exceptionally friendly correspondence. Ron and Gill even thoughtfully suggested that we allow them to book us a table at a restaurant as we were staying for Valentines Day and it was bound to be busy - and blimey, was their recommendation good!

The stunningly decorated breakfast table will be forever more imprinted on our memory... such attention to detail. And the food itself was delicious! (I had to kick my boyfriend under the table to remind him of his manners and not to go back for third helpings.)

Our South African adventure really was our dream holiday and it was fitting that we spent our final evening in the dream guesthouse.

Thank you so much.

In the last fifteen years, we have covered well over 350 000 kms in southern Africa and stayed at over 100 accomodation facilities. My motivation for the previous statement is not purile one upmanship but to lend credence to my enthusiasm as my review is based on experience gained during this time.

Tranquility is far and away the best place at which we have stayed. From the heartiest of welcomes we encountered by the Taskes family when we arrived, until the time had to bid them a reluctant farewell, we basked in the warmth of their hospitality and revelled in the comfort of their surroundings.

From a business perspective. Tranquility is close enough to Cape Town's CBD for a short ride by car, taxi or even train; yet it is far enough away from the oppressive hustle and bustle of the city to regain one's sense of calm serenity in the [you guessed it...] Tranquility of their mountainside property.

After our business matters were concluded, my wife and I availed ourselves of Ron and Gill's abundant knowledge of the area to visit local attractions, events and places of interest and enjoy a romantic break.

A word on the food - legendary. It's all you can do to restrain yourself from developing a shameful appetite. Every meal we enjoyed at Tranquility was prepared with direct involvement of the owners and compares favourably to many five-star establishments we've been to in the past.

It is clear that Tranquility Guest House is well led, has excellent management and dedicated staff. Standards of cleanliness are faultless and the owners will spare no effort to ensure a memorably enjoyable stay.

It just remains for us to find an enxcuse to return.

Great guesthouse with wonderful hosts, where we received a very warm welcome, accompanied by hot muffins! Our room was delightfully furnished, with a lovely view of the bay. The breakfast was sumptuous and delicious. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Some rooms have mountain views and others look over the bay

Situated high above the town Tranquility has wonderful views of the surrounding area. Everyone involved in the lodge strives to make your visit one of relaxation and comfort. The breakfasts are sumptuous and the bedrooms comfortable and airy. Definitely worth a visit. Hope to return next year.
