“Fantastic Place”
Reviewed 29 October 2012

We have been to Rainbow Glen on numerous occasions and were there again this last week-end. It is an absolute haven for children and adults. The kids play while the Adults relax. There is a lovely inviting pool and chickens and rabbits for the kids to feed. There is also a jungle gym and trampoline. There is a huge stretch of grass for either just relaxing on or playing ball games etc. The chalets are well equipped and the hosts Tara and Dave always friendly with a wealth of information on what to do in the area IF you wants to venture out. It is great value for money and we will of course return.

Room Tip: Highly recommend Muskadel cottage for 2 families with kids

This was about the 5th stay at this resort. This visit the largest unit attached to the house was hired for 5 people. When hiring self catering units like this one, besides cleanliness and comfort, it is essential that such units have a reasonable kitchen with adequate facilities such as a hob with oven (not just a microwave) fridges with freezing facilities (not bar size fridges), suffient hot water for the amount of guests at all times, adequate bathroom facilities, heaters in winter and good barbeque facilities. This unit has all
The owner David is extremely helpfull without being obtrusive and we would always return

We are very greatful for the efforts that Dave and his wife did for us by looking after our car when the river flooded. The staff are friendly and the grounds are well maintained with beautiful surrounds.

We stayed at Rainbow Glen on the recommendation of local friends. We had the Garden Cottage for two nights. It sleeps 4 and has a private braai/BBQ lapa. Dave, the owner, was friendly and helpful and my daughter enjoyed playing with the bunnies and being included in the chicken feeding and egg collecting routine in the morning. We would stay here again.

We did our 1 night stay very much in these guest cottages. Nice location outside town, which was very quiet. The bed was a little hard, but all the rest was perfect.
Every cottage was having a private table for having, breakfast, a bbq or just to relax. Nice size swimming pool and mountain view.

My stay at Rainbow Glen was the lowest point in my three week holiday. During the 2011 festive season my family and I embarked on a three week holiday which started In Goudini and ended at the beautiful Avalon Springs resort. Our convoy consisted of eight adults and eight children. We had the misfortune of staying at Rainbow Glen for 3 days. I have been to many resorts and not once have I ever received such bad service. Upon arrival the owner of the place explained to me how the gas geyser needed to be nursed as the geyser was not working properly, I was fine with that. In total we booked 4 chalets for the three days. From the moment we arrived the owner was buzzing around us as if we were going to break something. During our stay at Rainbow Glen my family was approached more then ten time to remind us of the resorts do’s and don’ts. The owner made it a point of popping into all our chalets every day with some or other lame excuse. On one occasion the children was preparing to go swim in the pool and the owners first reaction was to pull out his bucket of chlorine and start treating the pool. I was advised that it’s not a good idea to swim in the pool for quite a while. Thirty minutes later the owner had his friends and family members in the pool having a party and boozing whilst my family and I had to sit and watch. Whilst packing up to hit the road, the owner, his wife and the dog who had been pooping all over the lawn came to visit us to check if the there had been any breakages. I mentioned to the owner that my stay was rather unpleasant as a result of his constant interruptions. His response in as few words as possible was “Your opinion does not count” and that our presence was unpleasant. This is the worst place I have ever been to and I would not recommend it to anyone who likes their own privacy. The owner is a sly and obnoxious individual and had it not been for him, my stay would have been blissful

Room Tip: attached is a pic of the owner entertaining his friends whilst we had to sit and watch.

Unfortunately we had to ask these guests never to come back as they were rude to our staff and to our other guests and left a disgusting mess.
This is the first and only time we have ever tolerated such disrespect from people staying with us as we find our guests are as respectful and appreciative of us and our beautiful place as we are of them.
