Description: The Rambling Rose is set on the scenic Route 62, a large parking lot makes it very easy for travellers with large vehicles, little kids or large groups to stop safely. The farmshop boosts a selection of home made jams, preserves, rusks, biscuits and chocolates. Cafe Artesia our bakery - bakes artisanal breads every Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating with a warm fire going in the chilly winter. A wishing well provides great entertainment for the kids.Breakfast is served untill 4pm, lunch menu is displayed on chalk boards as it changes according to season, and what is growing on the farm. All cakes, croissants and muffins are hand made on site and are worth a try! Coffee is our thing - we only serve Origin Coffee and have five trained Baristas on site! The Rambling Rose is a family run business and food and service is our passion - we look forward to welcoming you.

Our second visit to the no 1 restaurant owned by a young portuguese couple. We were impressed the previous time and the pumpkin soup and north african mushroom and cashew curry was divine. We bought some breads to take home which tastes great. A must-stop on Route 62.

Visited Rambling Rose 5 times the past month.
You feel welcome from the moment you enter the restaurant.
Staff is very friendly though professional.
Very nice informal setting and you can sit next to the fire place if it is very cold.
The breakfast variety is good and the lunch menu includes a very good selection of local dishes.
The food preparation and presentation is very good.
Most important is the consistency, consistently good - 5 times in a row.
The shop in the restaurant has a great spread of home made jams, fresh baked breads and some spectacular meringues.
Definitely our favourite spot in Montague.

Positioned strategically in Long Street (the through road) this restaurant/deli has a surprisingly extensive menu presented on a number of blackboards. Excellent attentive service (right out of the training manual!) The service starts at the front door. When seated you are first offered their carafes of special mint water and lightly toasted homemade ciabata (on the house). Food ordered was extremely tasty and beautifully presented. As it was a cold day we appreciated the warmth of the fireplace. We will definitely return.

We had one of our best breakfasts here while driving through Montagu. So much so, in fact, that we ended up spending a night in this town!

The service was superb; the food was prepared with attention to detail and the decor was awesome! The perfect restaurant and store on Route 62.

Service would be 5 out of 5. Presentation also and food very good. Can't make it a 5 for review as it was a quiet time.
