You will see plenty of reviews here about the now famous Andrew. We found he lived up to the best of those reviews. Great food ( marmite chicken is just one great dish) and with Andrew running the show, great service. We did eat here on his night off, it wasn't as smoothly run, however the food was just as good.

Remember to book! He will try and fit you in if he can, but Friday's and Saturdays he is usually booked up.

What can we say - Andrew himself is so entertaining that we didn't mind that the portions were not huge although they were certainly authentic and home-cooked style. We have a thoroughly enjoyable dinner there.

It's not easy to find the restaurant since it's located in an old building but we were surprised to have found so many tourists in this restaurant.

Compared to the famous local Penang dishes, this restaurant is catering food for tourists' taste but not to the local. I wouldn't categorize it as authentic Penang food but It's okay (not bad) for Malaysian/ Asian food hence I rated it as average only.

Penang is famous for it's local food, I would still go to George Town for real authentic Penang food.

Trip Advisor really need congratulated for making this owners business an ongoing success. Had it not been for the reviews, I believe this place would be significantly quieter than it is, and due to its location, we would never have went in. The patrons, almost without exception, are Australians or Europeans.

ANdrews is on the second floor of an older style shopping centre. It is quite small and gets very busy in the evenings between 7-8pm as you would expect.

Andrew is a flamboyant host who is extremely welcoming to guests, but may not be quite so kind to kitchen staff.

Food is pretty cheap and tasty. Our children ate more here than anywhere else because after trying the first plate and enjoying it... They were happy to try everything else we ordered even although it wasn't foods they would usually eat.

Really liked that most of the dishes could be ordered as a half portions so you can order lots of tasting plates. 1/2 serves of curry dishes were about 8mr or under $3 per plate.

As mentioned, the restaurant obviously caters for westerners tastes and locals don't rate it as a place to eat (our hotel staff were really surprised we thought it was so good). Prawns are about the most expensive dish at 39mr with most mains about 15mr or $5. Would recommend everyone try an egg fried rice dish with your meal which I thought was delicious.

Went to this place based on trip advisor reviews. The food was ok/good. Nothing special and certainly not bad. I just would favour other places. The service was efficient and friendly.
The ambiance of the location is lost with the loudspeaker from the Mosc (at the Golden Sands) across the road, but don't let that deter you from having meal here. Accomodating for young children.
