Great food! Cooking on a stone is a unique and fun experience. Staff and atmosphere are wonderful. Love on the Rocks and Chef Rob's should definitely be on your dining list while in Hopkins.

“Two strikes and we're out”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

We ate at both of the restaurants in this building (Chef Rob's & Love on the Rocks) two different nights we stayed in Hopkins after reading the reviews. The servers were friendly and the location being close to the beach was excellent. The food I can't say the same for. Two different dishes on two different evenings had shrimp that were the smallest I've seen. I would say the size of a quarter or what you would see in a jar of shrimp cocktail at the store. Honestly not exaggerating here. I had chicken the second night at Love on the Rocks which was basically plain chicken breast with a few vegetables and peanut sauce on the side. It was fair but for the price of the food the plate was underwhelming to say the least. My wife tried to order fish but was told they were sold out of everything. Our friends ordered something else that included fish as part of the entree and had no problem. Being that my wife does not eat red meat it was disappointing to say the least. We aren't that picky but a bad combination of fair to less than fair food at a premium price. We have gone out and spent over $100 per person for a great restaurant but feel the 3 star reviews that mention " the food is over priced" are right on. We did find other options in Hopkins that were excellent for local inexpensive food as well as upscale dining.

“Excellent service & delicious food! ”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

My husband and I came here for dinner twice during our current trip in Hopkins. Both of the waiters were very friendly and were very thorough in explaining the menu and how to best cook our food to our likings. The atmosphere is wonderful being right on the beach and the unique manner of how the food is served on a hot rock is so much fun. Every item we ordered was delicious. The grass fed steaks were some of the best we have ever had and at an excellent price as grass fed steak is very expensive in the states. The catch of the day was also very good and so fresh! We highly recommend Love On The Rocks when you are visiting the lovely village of Hopkins! Thank you to the very kind servers for making our dining experience complete!

“Great service and steak”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

Shrimp cocktail was okay, FYI no cocktail sauce here just a mayo based garlic sauce. The filet was excellent! Comparable to a steak from Ruth's Chris. We added the garlic butter from the bread onto the steak while it was cooking... Amazing! Shrimp kabob's okay. Service was excellent, quick, but not pushy, and attentive.

“Pretty location”

The restaurant is on the beach, in a nice setting. It is small and intimate. Food quality is good. A little expensive
