My husband and I visited the Hamanasi resort in Jan/ feb for our honeymoon. It is situated in Hopkins, a remote, charismatic coastal town in Southern Belize.

Communication with the admin team following booking was very good... I had lots of questions which were all answered in a speedy time frame.

We chose the honeymoon package. Leading up to the trip we were both soooo excited! And finally... from the moment we were met at the 'local' airport by our Hamanasi driver, Gold, we were treated like royalty!

We spent 8 nights in a luxury treehouse - upon arrival into the room, we found champagne, chocolate dipped fruits and flowers. The accommodation was huge, stunning, clean and had well maintained surroundings.

We then went on to stay 4 nights in the honeymoon suite, a room on the beach with a balcony overlooking the luscious beach trees and ocean in the near distance. This room was a good size and was clean. The bed was large and very comfy. The staff brought us a mini fridge to the room immediately when we asked for it. Also when we found an army of ants, they sorted the problem out straight away.

I would definitely recommend experiencing the treehouse - but when we return, we would happily stay in one of the beach accommodations.

The cleaners and maintenance workers work around the clock to ensure that the rooms and resort itself remains as stunning as 'the moment before'.

The food variety is remarkable. The menu changes daily. The dishes are well executed and tasty. The restaurant staff were very informative about the dishes and were also lovely and attentive to our needs.

We came mainly for the diving. My husband undertook his advanced Padi with the help of C-Dog. C-Dog was amazingly patient throughout the training and afterwards. The diving experience itself wasn't the best I have experienced (i am well travelled!) but this was mainly down to the weather. The equipment and boats were in very good condition. The organisation of diving activities was faultless. Overall the dive masters were friendly and attentive however, there was a couple of occasions where I felt that a certain dive master was not monitoring the inexperienced divers safety and was telling those less experienced divers off rather than offering constructive feedback in a nice way. I did feed this back to Karina the manager.

The land activities were good fun and the guides were excellent. The transport was clean and air conditioned.

All in all, we absolutely LOVED our honeymoon! We met some amazing people during our time spent at Hamanasi. Karina, you ROCK! This lady went out of her way to make our stay memorable, and that she did. I should also mentioned our little friend Daryl on the front desk, this man is great fun and was super attentive to our needs (and random requests!). We can't wait to return in the near future and will continue to recommend this superb resort to others.

Myself and my wife stayed at Hamanasi for a 6 day honeymoon package. Upon arrival we were walked through all of the ammenites at the resort. This included all the land?sea excursions and the dining plan. Shortly there after we were escorted to our deluxe treehouse (#24). Having seen the pictures of the room we had a fairly high expectation of the accomendation. Upon entering the treehouse, we were smiling from ear ot ear, what a wonderfully appointed place to stay for 6 days. The bedroom, living area and bathroom was fantastic.....the wrap around balcony and full privacy that the canopy provided was much appreciated. With flowers adorning every pillow and towel, the chilled bottle of champagne and a beautiful welcome note written on a leaf, we knew that our honeymoon was off to a great start.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner was stress free and full of fresh ingredients/flavor. For lunch, I would highly recommend the shrimp wrap or the turkey and bacon club. All of the fresh fruit was ripe and bursting with flavor. Kenneth, who ran the bar was always smiling and delivering drinks upon request. Kim and Florita met us every night with a smile and addresed us by our first name.
The team at the dive shop are awesome and if you are wanting to get PADI certified this is the place. The whole team did an amazing job and were excited and helpful as well as being completely thorough and safe.
All in all, this is the best weeks trip I have ever taken in my 30 years of travelling the world. A couple of tips that I would like to put out. Watch out for the Doctor Fly (yelllow/orange) nasty biting fly that will leave you swollen and sore. Also, keep plenty of deep woods off around for those pesky sand fleas. My wife spent 20 mins on the beach without deep woods off and she picked up 300+ itchy red bites.

Room Tip: Deluxe tree house #24 or 25.

Hamanasi Resort in southern Belize shows everyone the way a resort in a remote, environmentally rich and sensitive area should be designed, built and run. My adult daughter and I just returned from Hamanasi and it exceeded our expectations in every regard. The folks there offered us a variety of choices for the kinds of adventures we wanted to take. The guides were experienced, thoughtful and informative. The dive operation is first-rate; my daughter got her SCUBA certification there with virtual one-on-one instruction and we were able to go on spectacular dives on the barrier reef. The hotel facility is a bastion of comfort and subtle elegance on the edge of the rain forest. And the staff is the most genuinely solicitous and friendly of any we have encountered.
I am usually not a big fan of all-inclusive resorts, but this is the only way to go in an isolated area like southern Belize. You won't want to dine anywhere else anyway--the chef is imaginative, the food is fresh and delicious.
Finally, Hamanasi comes across as making a sincere, consistent effort to be gentle on its environment. And what an environment Belize is!

Room Tip: Treehouse rooms are the best for privacy and a sense that you are truly away from it all.

I can't say enough about our fantastic stay at the Hamanasi Resort. We were there for 10 days in August for our honeymoon and purchased the "Honeymoon Package". We did 3 scuba trips and 3 land excursions. The scuba was fantastic, the dock and dive shop are right at the resort which are extremely convenient. The guides were awesome and extremely friendly - one of our trips we saw dolphins playing in the ocean and we stopped to watch, our boat captian Neal was watching and telling me the exact moment to snap the camera to get the best pictures. Our guides were Sam (I Am) and Martin and both did a great job, were very safe and explained what we saw and tried to show us as much as possible when we were under water. For the land excurstions we did Mayan Ruins, Mayflower Waterfall Hike and Cave and Jungle tours. Every guide was excellent and knowledgable, Ems, Hartfield and Pedro were all wonderful, friendly and made each trip wonderful.

The staff was amazing, from the friendly wait staff and bartenders, to the front desk workers - literally everyone knew our name. We would even see our guides from previous tours and they would ask what we did that day and how the trip was. Since its a smaller hotel there are 26 rooms so you get to know the other guests staying there. We were fortunate to be staying there with some really great guests and it was fun sitting by the pool asking them about their day or seeing them at the bar during happy hour or dinner. There was even a wedding at the resort while we were there!

The food was fantastic and it never got old. Tons of fresh fruit, eggs, breads and yogurt in the mornings, staple lunch items as well as rotating specials and the dinner menu changed every night. They have 9 dinner menus so there are completely different options each night. Some of the portions are large (for me) and they do offer a half portion which was good to know so I didn't have to waste any food.

It was truly a fantastic experience and I would definitely go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the beachfront room which was excellent, the tree houses looked great too and are more...

After extensive research for the perfect honeymoon destination, we chose Hamanasi Resort. We at least expected to get good service, nice food, a comfortable room and some outdoor adventures. Those were the things we thought would give us the honeymoon vacation we were looking for. However, when we got to Hamanasi Resort it was beyond what we could have ever imagined. We were greeted by a friendly staff, who immediately called us by name and made us feel very welcome. While our luggage were being taken to the tree house suite, we were served the best lunch I had eaten on any Caribbean island. The eight days that followed were full of outdoor adventures, excellent food, which consisted of a delicious breakfast every morning, boxed lunches on our trips, and scrumptious, nightly dinners. We even got some of the recipes printed to take back home with us. Each morning I woke up to face the beach and was convinced that I was in paradise. We could hear the birds in the trees, the sound of the ocean and the beautiful flora and fauna surrounding the resort, all of which added to the natural beauty of the setting. We could not have chosen a better destination for our honeymoon.

Although there were some bugs, they were never a major issue, as long as we used bug spray before going outdoors. The staff were incredibly competent and accommodating. The tour guides were knowledgeable about the area and very safety conscious without being overbearing. The wait and room staff were always friendly and worked hard to anticipate our needs, often before we were aware of the need ourselves. Overall, I would recommend Hamanasi Resort to anyone who is looking for a good Caribbean experience without being treated too touristy.

My husband bid on this trip at a charity auction and after a frenzy, we became the lucky winners at a fundraiser for the Shelter House in Fairfax, VA. Since he could not get past the no-internet-or-TV-in-the-room thing, my sister and I had the most fabulous week starting with the reservations staff to our ride back to the airport and everything in between. We had a beachfront deluxe room and I would highly recommend it. This place was huge (2 bedrooms), had relaxing views and was convenient to the pool, beach and main building, while still being peaceful. We never heard our neighbors - only birds! What made Hamanasi really special, however was the staff. Everyone was fantastic and it was a nice touch that they greeted us by name. Great, great service. Nordstrom squared.

Our snorkeling excursion was exceptional - they don't just drive you to the middle of somewhere and tell you to jump off and come back in 30 minutes - they guide you and point out things you never would have noticed - like stingrays and sharks - thanks John and Roy. The jaguar tour was great too - lunch was complete in the rainforest with tablecloth service and real plates and cups - thanks Lorenzo (he knows his stuff)). And we loved the local performances - don't miss these when they come to Hamanasi during the week. We also took a couple bike rides to the village and met some of the friendly people in Hopkins and had local food. Try the barracuda at Tina's or the pizza at Driftwood (they give it a Hopkins touch and it's different and delicious).

Some other special people at Hamanasi: Elvira with the wait staff, Mark and Ambrosio at the bar, the office staff when we thought we lost a passport (thanks ladies!), Chris with the landscaping crew (grounds are just lovely) and the managers Louise and Richard (ask him to tell you some of those stories). Alfredo with the tour staff and Kenneth at the pool were just the best ever and get our "sisters" award. They always seemed to be right there, reading our minds about what we needed - thanks guys for being right on time! Thanks also to the others who greeted us and made this a once-in-a-lifetime trip and those behind the scenes who we did not have the pleasure to meet but who do their part to make this a 5-star resort.

I am sure your experience will be similar - go here if you get the chance. We plan to go back for sure.

Room Tip: Beachfront deluxe is a great room for views, convenience, families, non-couples or for those who nee...
