Our family of four, which includes two boys aged 12 and 14, loved our stay at Hamanasi. This is the perfect place for people looking to unplug from their media-saturated routines and enjoy jungle and beach activities while learning about different cultures. We thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling and several of the jungle tours. All of our guides were knowledgeable about the local area, courteous, and accommodating. The same can be said for all of the staff at Hamanasi. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were given exceptional customer service.

The thing we loved most about the resort is its tranquil beauty. It is secluded and does not boast the whirlwind party atmosphere of some resorts or resort towns. That is exactly what we loved about staying there. We were so tired after days filled with various activities that the lack of t.v. and WiFi in the room didn't bother us at all. We were content to relax by the pool or in hammocks under the palm trees after a day of adventure.

We really liked the food served at Hamanasi. Many vegetarian options were available at every meal, which I appreciated. It was nice to try so many of the local foods and dishes. There was plenty standard American fare too, like mac & cheese and hamburgers, which our boys devoured.

We stayed in two treehouse rooms, one standard and one deluxe. They were both immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The deluxe treehouse room included a bathtub on the porch. When we filled the tub little frogs would gather on the side of the tub right at the water line. Very cool!

The only down side to our trip was the presence of biting insects (mostly sand flies). However, this factor is completely out of the resort's control. Plus, the resort website prepared us for this eventuality so we had plenty of bug spray.

Overall, we would highly recommend Hamanasi to anyone looking for a more authentic Belizean experience.

Room Tip: The treehouse rooms are set back in the jungle along winding paths which makes for a secluded, peace...

We stayed at Hamanasi from April 19th - April 26th 2014. We had a wonderful stay. From our clean and spacious (even with 4 people and an extra bed) treehouse (#15) to the delicious food to the friendly and knowledgeable staff to the three resident kitties and Max the dog, it was fun and a great experience. Fun adventures with awesome guides (EMS, Lorenzo and Hartfield) and relaxing by the pool afterwards. The front desk was very accommodating (thank you Karina) when I asked about the possibility of going on a tour of the Belize Zoo on our last day on our way to the airport in Belize City - I'm so glad that I asked since it's a great zoo :) Thank you Hamanasi for making it happen!!! Give Orchid, Gibnut and Ginger an extra cat treat for us :)

Room Tip: We loved staying in a treehouse.

The scenery, food, accomadations were amazing and beyond all that the staff trully made the experience incredible. Inland jungle with waterfalls and ruins to river kayaking and cave tubing handling ancient Mayan artifacts to diving/snorkeling there is no comparison. 2300 foot ziplines going 60mph...more adventures too numerous to mention. We stayed in the deluxe treehouse and we cannot wait to take our kids the next time. Every detail was well thought out and executed. It was more expensive than the other resorts but worth every cent. Their hidden gem is the organic garden and worth a visit.

Room Tip: The deluxe treehouse has a private hot tub and a double shower ....need I say more.

My family (husband, mother and sister) stayed here for 9 days in January in a 2 room beach room. It was absolutely amazing. Seriously one of the best vacations we have ever ever been on!!! The weather was not ideal (it was January and one of the rainiest seasons they have had in a long time) and it did not put a damper on the vacation at all. The food, the guides, the service, staff, drinks, rooms, pool, beach, activities -- all incredible. I usually do not like to make repeat visits to places too soon, but this place deserves a special trip back very soon! I would definitely recommend this hotel to ANYONE looking for a fun, adventurous, relaxing, wonderful vacation. Can't wait to see you soon, Hamansai!

Room Tip: Beach rooms were amazing. I heard the tree houses were as well, but am not sure. I could not say mor...

Hamanasi is one of the nicest resorts I've ever visited. Rooms were lovely, staff was outrageously accommodating and friendly, beach was great, food was great, scuba was beautiful and the guides were experienced and professional. The non-scuba adventures I did (Monkey River and kayaking) were also excellent and I heard the same thing about those I didn't do.

In addition the other guests were interesting and friendly - a big bonus for someone who was travelling alone.

And the resort truly does make an effort to be eco-friendly.

Karina Martinez, the manager, was especially helpful.

Room Tip: All are good, just a question of whether you want beach or a treehouse.

We came back each time for different reasons. After the first great trip, we went back to introduce our friends to Hamanasi and Belize. Food, staff, accommodation for as remote as it is, are all still wonderful. If you like privacy and the chance of seeing critters, I highly recommend the deluxe tree houses. The third visit was that we all needed to up our diving skills and even though the 4 of us were taking different courses, they were able to provide enough staff to accommodate all our needs. Highly recommend the lion fish hunt as they need to be eliminated from the reefs and make an excellent dinner. The dive staff especially went out of their way to make sure we got to visit all the sites we wanted to dive again. Everyone was super.

Room Tip: We live near the sea so always go for the tree houses. The jacuzzi is a must after multiple dives!

We had a wonderful week at Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort in late March-early April. We were met at the airport by Lorenzo, who gave us local color on our 15 minute drive to the resort--he was also our very knowledgeable Mayan temple guide. ( we arrived at the airport in a small, prop plane--20minute flight from Belize City---) The resort is beautiful--buildings and landscaping. We stayed in a treehouse and it was wonderful. Beautiful canopy bed, very spacious room and bathroom--in the rainforest! The dining was outstanding; we did an all inclusive package that did not disappoint us. The food was great--ordered from a menu, and many choices to pick from. We are divers, and the boat crews were amazing--they served us like we were royalty! The staff at Hamanasi can not do too much for you--from the welcoming front desk to the dining staff to the bartenders--all were wonderful. We enjoyed the Mayan temple tours and canoeing on the river. If you want to go into town, you can take a taxi or bike into Hopkins. We stayed mostly in the resort (why leave? it was perfect!), and biked in the opposite direction and it was a fun, relaxing ride. I know that I sound like I'm gushing, but this place is HIghly recommended!

Room Tip: The tree house room was great--highly recommended! Each room is to itself, and very spacious...
