Fuego Lodge is truly paradise. The rooms are beautiful and open. The balconies are equipped with wonderful hammocks. The pool is pristine. The grounds are lush and green. Bard and Itay are always around, super helpful, and a friendly, fun loving couple.
I had the most amazing experience at Fuego Lodge. I planned on travelling around the pacific coast for a week and ended up spending the rest of my trip there once I found it. There is no need to go anywhere else. It is picture perfect. I will definitely be going back!
Book early!!

I stayed at the Fuego Lodge for two weeks in late December early January. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasurable experience. The property is beautifully set on a slope of land just off the main street in Santa Teresa; a grocery store conveniently located at the foot of the driveway. I shared the third floor suite and instantly fell in love with our balcony - The view, the hammock, the forrest, the company, the sound of the tide, perfect. Barb and Itay, the proprietors of this paradise, brought our stay to the next level. Barb knew me by name when I arrived and Itay hooked us up with everything else we needed - surf boards, atvs, restaurants, etc. If you're looking to get away and experience something truly wonderful, go to Fuego. See you soon Barb and Iaty! Sofi and Eden too!

Room Tip: 3rd floor balcony. :-)

We had the good fortune of choosing to stay at Fuego Lodge for our long weekend in Santa Teresa. The hotel grounds are lovely, lush and well-maintained. Our two-bedroom, two-story apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable visit and the air conditioning was a welcome amenity. My two children loved the pool. It was made for small children and families to use and they would have been more than happy to have spent the entire stay splashing in the pool. The entire hotel property is just beautiful and extremely tranquil. There are plenty of outside showers to refresh yourself or wash off salt water or chlorine. We left bathing suits and towels outside to dry and never feared for theft. The owner, Barbara, and her husband are very friendly, welcoming, and more than happy to answer any questions about the area or offer suggestions for beaches to surf and restaurants to visit. We will definitely return to Fuego Lodge during our next visit to Santa Teresa.

Thank you Barbara, Itai, Eden and Sofi for an amazing vacation. Barbara and Itai have created a wonderful place for families. They provided countless recommendations for restaurants and activities (fishing, massage, beaches to visit) and helped us to coordinate everything. I am extremely picky when it comes to spa visits and Barbara scheduled phenomenal massages at Tropico Latino with the best therapists. The lodge itself is very well designed. We stayed in one of the apartments and even though the second bedroom was to warm during the day for our son to nap in, it provided us with the extra space we needed for family. We loved the pool! There is a shallow end that our 3 year old was thrilled to play in virtually all day. As mentioned in tiebee's post-- the other guests were incredible too. We ended up cooking together following each of the fishing trips-- delicious ceviche, fish tacos, sashimi, guacamole, quesadillas, plantains etc. Barbara and Itai let us borrow sand toys and a body board that kept us busy at the beach while watching the sunset every day...Imperial in hand of course. On several occasions we rented their ATV to head up to Playa Hermosa--a beach not to be missed! Overall, we had such an amazing trip and cannot wait to be back. Thank you guys for being so incredibly accommodating and just making our vacation so amazing. Con cariño- E, J & M

My wife, 12-year old son, and I just spent 11 nights at Fuego Lodge. While we had never even been to Costa Rica before, staying at Fuego Lodge was like staying at a really good friend’s beautiful home in paradise. Not only is their property beautiful and exceptionally well-kept, Barbara and Itai were incredible hosts. From setting up activities (ziplining, snorkeling, surfing lessons, fishing, etc.), to recommending restaurants, to helping us fix our rental car, the two of them absolutely made the difference in our Costa Rican vacation.

The entire property is simply gorgeous. We stayed in one of the pool front suites – the one with the outdoor kitchen. It was perfect for the three of us us. There were two comfortable queen sized beds in a very spacious room, and the bathroom is very nice. For families looking for more privacy, they have really nice apartments as well. We really enjoyed having the outdoor kitchen – especially after we caught a bunch of big fish on a fishing trip Barbara set up for us.

The property is in a great location. The walk to the beach is short and easy, and there are a number of great restaurants very close by. The pool is really nice and is a great gathering spot. We got to know several of our fellow guests well, and that was an added and unexpected bonus to our trip.

We love to travel to new places and tend not to return to someplace we have been before. However, we definitely plan to return to Santa Teresa as soon as possible. When we do, we will definitely stay at Fuego Lodge. It was perfect in every way.
