“Exceeded Expectations- A Howling Good Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2010

Our group of 8 consisted of four adults and four 18-yr old boys on a graduation trip. The hostel was more than comfortable for all of us. We used both dorm rooms and a private room. The dorm rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. They slept 6, had lockers in the room, and had a bathroom in each dorm room. The private room was also spacious and clean and had an optional a/c unit for a small fee - the bathroom was shared with only one other room. The hostel also has a laundry service that we used - clothes were clean, fresh, folded, and returned at time promised. We used the kitchen area daily, it has everything you need for cooking and the grocery store is a short 5 min walk away. The owners and housekeeping do an excellent job of keeping all areas clean. One added bonus to this hostel is the beautiful, clean swimming pool - a great place to relax and watch the local howler monkeys! The service we received was excellent, no complaints. They were very helpful and flexible. Their contacts with local rentals and transportion was valuable. We would stay there again! Pura Vida!

i stayed at cuesta arriba twice on my tour of central america, and this place was the best hostel by far, clean ,near the beach, quiet, lush gardens ,tv room, free breakfast, helpful staff..its not the top pick in the lonely planet for nothing,if you are going to santa theresa ,stay on the bus until it stops at the end and walk in the same direction just five minutes its on the right.its at the best end of the beach and a supermarket is just two mins walk..surf in front is awesome...enjoy, book to avoid dissapointment..

Highlight of our trip! We’ve been traveling around Central America for the last 2 months and nothing compares to Cuesta Arriba. We had such a good time there with lots of cool people. There is always returning guest around. No wonder why!!! The beach is right there, it is minute walk to the market, and 5’ away from “Santa Teresa’s center. The owners are friendly and made us feel like home. We came for 3 nights but we stayed for more than a week. We didn’t want to leave but time was running out to check some other spots in the Nicoya peninsula. If you have a chance to go to Santa Teresa this is the place to go but be careful, you might wanna stay for ever!
