my wife and i stayed at this hotel in jan. 2012.as it was our first visit to c.r. we needed quite a bit of guidance getting to santa tereas and sol was fantastic in helping us.the room was stunning, and as we live in a very quiet area the peacefulness of this property was deeply appreciated.the restaurant on site habanaro was one of the top two in the santa tereasa area and hostess niki was pura vida personified. ask chef gary to show you his specials, the live lobster was great.be sure to see etti for all your excursion needs. she booked us on the zip line and to tortuga island.bring a book to the island as you are stuck there for a couple of hours at the end of the tour.the morning fruit and daily flowers to the room were a wonderful bonus.

Room Tip: there are only three and all are great

We die not stayed at playa cielo but we had a wonderful dinner at Habanero, the restaurant which belongs to Playa Cielo. The service was so nice, the chef came and explained how he prepared the different meals we loved most and the food was excellent, and all this at a very reasonable price. Ah, and I haven't ,entwined the beach side setting yet... I could not imagine how it could get any better. Thanks for this lovely evening!

We spent five nights at Playa Cielo in mid-Decmeber. The casista's are lovely and perfect for a family of four. There has been a great deal of thought and care been put into the design of the buildings and landscape and they continue to be very well maintained.
We arrived after a long and diffiuclt journey and were warmly welcomed by Eti who was very helpful and a great source information about the area and activitiies.
Our children (6 and 9 years old) loved the wildlife, the dogs, the beach, pool and meeting Adele and Sol's girls.
There is a fantastic new restaurant on-site which is very handy on those lazy days when you don't want to go out.
Playa Cielo is in a great location, walking distance to a grocery store and restaurants; and on a lovely stretch of beach.
I would highly recommend Play Cielo, it is a little piece of paradise!

My friends and I found the this restaurant/hotel by accident one day. This seems to be the way the you find the best spots in Costa Rica, forget about your map and ask someone if you get too confused, Pura Vida! We were just trying to find a nice place to hang out on the beach in Santa Teresa. My fiance was hungry so we stopped for lunch and stayed until well after the sun went down. The hotel was booked but I will recommend this place to all of my friends. Go for the sunset but stay for the delicious margaritas and the good people. We tried all of the special margaritas that they offered that day, my favorite was the guanabana (I think that was how it was spelled). . . although the passion fruit was good too . . so was the pineapple-jalepeno!! The food was delicious and made with extra love! The owners and staff were exceptionally nice and outgoing. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are ever in the area!

Room Tip: The rooms are all separate cabinas.

This hotel was fantastic!! The staff is amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The room was my favorite part, this was the first hotel where we did not want to leave the room. Each guests has their own villa.....it has full kitchen, king bed, amazing shower, and big porch.. we loved it. The hotel restaurant was soo yummy! It was our favorite food that we ate then entire time in Santa Teresa. The chef and his wife are lovely people. The hotel is right on the beach... sitting in the pool watching the sunset over the ocean and drinking their amazing margarita's was the best places to relax and enjoy. Thanks playa Cielo!!

The Habanero restaurant at Playa Ciela is so good and the food, drinks and service top end. The first day we even thought the prices were too good - and yes - the day after the raise the prices, but we went back, and went back. Niki made us feel very comfortable.
