My new husband and I stayed at this wonderful boutique hotel while in cr and can not say enough about the place. The location is prime, the owners, who are Jim and Stephanie are very knowledgable and offered great advice on where to eat, and even gave us advice on where to stay in San jose. We had a surfing lesson with Jim who is an awesome teacher. The town is really laid back so that rolls right into the hotel. Or room was equipped with a kitchenette ( stove microwave, and fridge) had an awesome shower and a perfect view over looking the infinity pool straight out to the ocean. Wi fi is available by the pool. We would definitely stay here again!:)

Wow, it's hard to find anything bad to say about this place. My wife and I stayed at Casa Marbella with some friends for a week, and what a week! The hotel is up an odd, steep but short little dirt road, but once you arrive, the setting is beautiful. We were in the three-bedroom condo, which was fantastic - a huge, fantastic balcony for breakfast in the morning while watching the surf or for drinks after sundown. The hotel staff are incredibly good. Housekeeping is very professional and accommodating to your schedule. There's always someone on site and the owners and "front desk" staff helped us arrange surf lessons, fishing trips, snorkeling day trips, yoga lessons, massages... the list could go on. All the staff are helpful with any questions you might have on the country or the region.
There's no restaurant on site, but the best! restaurant in town (seriously) is virtually next door to the hotel and can be accessed by a private staircase.
This place is worth planning your trip around.

We rented the 3 bedroom for 4 adult males for 7 nights. Before we booked, we emailed the owners with questions, and received prompt responses. After we booked, we had several questions which were immediately and thoroughly answered by the owners. Their advice changed some of our plans, and we are glad we had their input. When on site, if we had any questions or needed anything, we just walked outside and asked. There was always someone on the premises. The housekeeping was amazing. Done daily around YOUR schedule. The owners can fix you up with anything you need for your stay. This is one of the most peaceful places I have ever stayed. Absolutely no complaints about the accomodations, staff, or location. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. As an aside, you are a staircase away from what we found to be the best restaurant in town. Oh yea, wireless too!

Room Tip: The 3 bedroom is a deal, even if you only need 2.

We had not made a reservation at Casa Marbella and stayed our first night in a place that we could not wait for morning to start sooner. My husband forgoed surfing in order to find "the place". He walked up a hill next to our favorite Soda place and found paradise!
The owner Jim did his best to make sure we would get accomodations at his place even if he had to pull a little magic and that's exactly what he did. We room hopped at the Casa and got to experience every style from the 3 bedroom condo to the one room with a queen bed and ended in the 2 bedroom suite. Each room had it's own magic and a view of the glorious ocean and infinity pool! This is a place to stay wether your a couple, flying solo or with teenage kids in tow.It seems to attract a clientele that you like hanging with by the pool for coffee in the morning(there is plenty of it for the guests) or to watch the fabulous sunset!
Stephanie is the other half of the team and she has a rockin yoga practice and great advice on where to chow! And if your lucky you get to hang out with Naia their 4 year old girl who adds to the pura vida life!
The place is tranquil and perfectly located to walk to the beach and town.
We woke up everyday with the sun and looked forward to sleeping there at night.
I miss you guys!!

Me and my girlfriend spent 4 days at Casa Marbella in march 2011. Great place to stay, walking distance to the beach (AWSOME surfing, nice beachbreak, consistent) and St Teresa. Beautiful view from the hotel and the pool area. Lovely couple runs the place, Jim gives super surf lessons + surf board rental. Nice sized clean rooms with fridge and AC.
