This review is long overdue-- My boyfriend and I stayed here in February for 4 nights and it was a fantastic time! Stephanie and Jim are great people that try to accommodate all your needs. They let us check-in the first night around 1am because of some travel issues that we had.

The hotel itself is beautiful. I would definitely recommend, if you have the funds, to splurge on a room with a balcony/kitchenette-- that’s what we plan on doing the next time! We stayed in one of the standard rooms, which was really pretty- love the furniture. The view from the hotel is spectacular! The pool and outdoor shower are wonderful amenities, especially when you get back from the beach all sandy. Please take advantage of the restaurant next door, too- Las Brisas. The food is delicious and fairly inexpensive, and the view of the sunset is awesome.

The only hiccup we faced during our stay was the shower’s water temperature. I don’t consider myself high maintenance. I’m pretty well traveled and don’t demand too much, but throughout out our stay we couldn’t moderate the water temperature to the shower. It was either scolding hot or ice cold. It was frustrating because we wanted to take comfortable showers when coming back from the beach. Stephanie and Jim did take a look-- they said this has been an ongoing issue that they hope to fix in the near future. This wouldn’t prevent me from staying here again, but do think it’s important to note.

Overall, Casa Marbella is a wonderful place to stay. It’s near the beach, Jim and Stephanie rock, and the hotel is beautiful. We can’t wait to go back!!

Our family just returned from a wonderful two week trip to Costa Rica. This was our second visit to this beautiful country, and we stayed at Casa Marbella for most of it. We stayed in their three bedroom condo and found it to be absolutely beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We booked our trip pretty late, so we had to move to a two bedroom suite for the end of our stay because the condo wasn't available. The suite was very nice, but the condo was well worth the extra cost. It had a huge kitchen/livingroom with a high cathedral ceiling and a big porch.
The best part of Casa Marbella is the owners, Jim and Stephanie. They are incredibly kind and helpful. Jim gave us our first surfing lesson and we had a terrific time. They arranged all of our activities for us (fishing, horseback riding, snorkeling), and gave recommendations to places they thought we would enjoy. It was an easy walk to the beach, grocery store or the bank. There were lots of excellent restaurants within a five minute walk. Jim and Stephanie have a beautiful daughter who became instant friends with our daughter, adding to the family friendly feel. Our daughter even helped them make cupcakes for another guests' son who was turning four. It just felt like a home away from home, and was absolutely spectacular. We would recommend Casa Marbella to anyone. What a fantastic trip. Thanks!

When travelling to Costa Rica for the second time our experience was made very memorable by our stay at Casa Marbella! Thanks so much to Stephanie, Jim and Naia as they made us feel right at home while so far away. Their cozy hotel nestled in the hills of Santa Teresa offers the perfect vantage point to soak in the entirety of the Pacific Ocean and full spectrum of the setting sun. Every detail of their beautiful establishment is carefully arranged, from the spacious pool deck to the yoga deck with panoramic views and even the fully stocked fridge full of sodas, water and other cold drinks! We truly enjoyed our 4 day stay and can't wait to go back very soon! We highly recommend this hotel for any adventurous vacationer looking to relax and soak in the full experience of this wonderful and secluded area of Costa Rica!

We just got back from a week in Santa Teresa, staying at Casa Marbella. This is a truly family friendly place. We travelled with our young children, and Stephanie and Jim made us feel right at home. They are exceptional owners and hosts, and have created a little paradise at Casa Marbella.

They went out of their way to help us with taxis and reservations, gave us excellent information on places to visit, and Jim is an awesome surf instructor.

Our kids loved swimming in the pool and playing with their daughter.

This is a beautiful place that I highly recommend staying if in Santa Teresa. I can't wait to go back!

Just got back from a great trip to Costa Rica where we spent 5 nights at this charming spot. The drive to get there was quite interesting along miles of curving dirt roads but it was well worth it when we arrived at this lovely destination. Stephanie and Jim are wonderful hosts of this intimate hotel where you feel like you are staying with family. Stephanie taught us yoga, my husband learned to surf and we all went zip-lining. Fabulous restaurant just up the hill where we ate breakfast (banana pancakes were divine) and the dinners were some of the best we have eaten. I recommend this spot to vacationers who want to get off the beaten path and have a new experience.

I have never stayed anywhere in which I felt like the place was mine until we stayed here. Jim, the owner of this beautiful (what I call) mansion truly made the experience here twice as nice. He made my fiance and I feel so comfortable and sets up the hotel amenities like it's a home instead. Jim also gave us great recommendations to the best spots in Santa Teresa, including a terrific restaurant next door to this hotel that has amazing ocean views similar to views from the hotel.

Our room was very clean, the pool was nice, and enjoyed the free magazines and books that were available for the guests.

Although I have no complaints about the stay and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to stay in Santa Teresa, the area of this hotel and most of Santa Teresa is terrible for walkers who eat dust from bypassing traffic.

If you are going somewhere, make sure it's not a long walk. Rent an ATV and have a blast like we did on our last day. We also don't surf, but if we did, I am sure we would like Teresa a lot more.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be nice.
