I was here for 3 days. The place is lovely, rooms are very spacious and the view is spectacular. However, when I booked a spa hotel I was hoping for something more than 2 treatment rooms where you could not even talk because the person inside could hear you. In order to use the hot tub, a treatment had to be booked. My friend did not want a treatment so she was not be able to go in the tub with me. In addition, "everything needs a reservation" although, restaurants were always empty. Fortunately we had a car and went into town (not within walking distance unless you can walk at least 2 miles up and down hills - one way) - the spas and restaurants in town are much better and less expensive.
And by the way if you need an iron it is available but for a charge! The WiFi was very difficult to get - only available in certain areas of the hotel.

Room Tip: Go if you want to rest but don't expect a spa hotel.

I HIGHLY recommend this hotel in Panama. It exceeded our expectations in every way -- wonderful location, gorgeous facility and delicious food. We found it via Panama Travel Consultants (also excellent) and loved our stay there. It is within walking distance of a small town, many local sites and an excellent place to go zip lining. We did a tour with a guide named Carlos who took us to all the hotspots (including the hot springs) for a fun, cultural look at Panama. We give it an A+.

This is our second visit to Los Mandarinos and it still is the single most amazing lodging experience we’ve experienced so far in all of our travels in Panama. This time we traveled with friends, and we are all spoiled travelers with high expectations. One friend said that the genuinely friendly service exceeded any Four Seasons.
We arrived at Los Mandarinos after a long drive from Omar Torrijos airport in Panama City, just in time for happy hour at the Irish Pub, located right within the hotel grounds. I still cannot believe that one can find such a place in a location so far removed from Ireland. We were able to drink Guinness beer, eat fish and chips, shepherd pie and other delicacies. Our waiter greeted us like old friends, and quickly heaped wine, beer, and food on us while we enjoyed a spectacular view of the valley outside. After a while, we got settled into our very spacious rooms in one of the hotel's several sprawling buildings....the view was breathtaking and the living space was more than ample for two couples, although we each occupied separate rooms.
The following day, we asked the hotel's front desk for their recommendation of a good restaurant nearby. They told us that a recently opened restaurant named Triana, offered the best selection of genuine Spanish food in all of Panama. They did not overstate their opinion. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. We had tapas and chose some excellent wine from La Rioja in Spain. If you go there, don't miss their "pulpo a la Gallega", "camarones al ajillo" and "cocidillo madrileno".
W will definitely return to Los Mandarinos on our next visit to Panama.

Room Tip: If you like to swim, ask for a room facing the pool in the new addition.

Unfortunately we only stayed at this hotel for one night, but we enjoyed our time there and we really liked this place! The rooms are huge, the bathroom is large as well, everything is clean and comfortable and you can see there is someone who cares for detail.
I liked the very warm swimming pool :-)
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
If you stay in El Valle then you should definately stay in this nice place!!
The only thing I didn`t like so much was that we lost our cellphone and I wrote a mail if somebody had found it but I never got an answer.

A mixed review for this nice but not perfect place. First the ugly: We arrived there a Sunday evening without reservation and the front staff told us that only superior rooms were available. It turned out that only a few rooms were occupied and all standard ones were free. Whether or not this is the hotel policy or a front desk employee in initiative doesn't matter: This is degree zero of customer management and you've been warned. Then the bad: Our room was huge and pretty nice but minimalism should not be synonym with lack of essentials, one table and a few more amenities both in the room and the bathroom would have been welcome.. and we could have done without the chlorine smell. The price, clearly exaggerated, is another issue. Service was good in the restaurant/pub, and non-existent elsewhere. Then the good: Breakfast was good, the buildings, although modern are a good imitation of old Tuscanian ones, the gardens are superb and the(small) hot pool is very nice. This hotel is a short drive or about half an hour walk from "town" and is really quiet. In summary we had an overall pleasant stay at Los Mandarinos but the lack of sense of service at many levels coupled with it price policy makes it difficult to really recommend it. There should be a better choice in Le Valle.
