This was an 8-night stay. We were travelling and walking on our own, but the hotel is also used by companies providing group walking. We stayed half-board and enjoyed the food throughout the stay. Desserts were not the most exciting part of the offering, but by then we were usually fairly full. The staff were all friendly and the bar well run. Other than at mealtimes the hotel was very quiet. The world cup was on and there was some interest and conversation, but we were often the only ones in the bar watching a game. We purchased the local Z-ticket for buses, chairlifts and cable-cars and used it extensively. (It also provided access to other sports facilities and activities we did not use). The only problem we had was that Thursday was a bank holiday and so Sunday service applied. A warning from the hotel would have been useful. We were not the only guests to feel that. Apart from that instance the reception staff were very helpful. The range of booklets on offer was good, and the file of maps of possible walks provided some useful input at the start of our holiday. The hotel is in Kirchplatz. This is very attractive but does mean the noise of the bells. Get used to waking up early, even if your room is round the far side of the hotel. The room was large and comfortable. No tea/coffee making facilities though. Tremendous views of the Zugspitze and the Sonnenspitze (mountains) from the room and from our table in the dining room.
