Very nice hotel in region that was unknown to us but turned out to be nice surprise. Hotel is part of the Relais & Chateau chain so quality very good. Very nice garden with swimming pool in a remote but relaxing area. To be recommended.

This hotel is a wonderful spot to retreat to: wonderful rooms, great ambiance, lovely gardens, super food both formal and casual. I especially appreciate the bistro-option for family dining. The hotel website does not do justice to what a special spot this is. Highly recommended!

We recently enjoyed a wonderfully indulgent 3 day stay at this totally charming guest house in the delightful village of Tremolat which we now thoroughly recommend as a base for any visit to the Dordogne region. The highlight of Le Vieux Logis was the charm and caring attention of the maitre d' hotel as well as the 'Surprise' degustation dinner. This is a heavenly experience of incredible cuisine and wine made exceptional by the attention and service from the restaurant staff.

Excellent auberge, charming staff and wonderful location in this small Dordogne village. The room was very pretty, cosy and well appointed, included tea making facilities which is always welcome. We chose to eat dinner in the 'bistrot en face' and the food was excellent, very friendly staff, great service and nothing too much trouble. We decided not to have breakfast which at 25 euros a head seemed a bit excessive, but overall we enjoyed a lovely stay in this great hotel. Highly recommended for a spoil yourself weekend!

Le Vieux Logis is a charming auberge with gorgeously beautiful and breathtakingly charming gardens, located in the sleepy little village of Tremolat, France near the Cingle de la Dordogne River.

While the village of Tremolat is not particularly remarkable, this auberge has a "tres bonne table," indeed, one of the best dinning experiences of our entire 1 month stay in France. The service and the food at this restaurant were, both, nothing short of foodie and wine lover's nirvana.

We had the Automne Menu with wine pairings. OMG was it fab! Each course was ingeniously conceived by the chef, perfectly crafted, and then wonderfully presented by the wait staff. And, the wine pairings, were to die for!

The hotel staff here is also very friendly and accommodating. Indeed, it feels at though you have come to grandpa and grandma's inn in the woods where grandma and her elves (that you never spot . . . even though you're looking for them!) are there to make your stay as comfy as possible and grandma is, actually, incognito grandma gourmet!

The location is also an excellent starting-off point to visit the magical Dordogne and to cycle the postcard perfect country roads in the Dordogne Valley-- as did I!

I stayed here only one night on a hiking trip in the area. Next time, I'll make this my base! Service, accomodations, and setting were lovely. Dinner was a highlight-I'm a vegan, which is a challenge iin the Dordogne region (home of foie gras!), but the chef outdid himself. All in all, a wonderful experience!

My wife and I stayed in a suite at Le Vieux Logis as part of a Backroads bike trip on Aug 25-26. It was clean, charming and quiet (except for the doves that decided to wake us up around 7:00am one morning).

The hotel is quaint and the suite itself evoked a feel of staying in someone’s home rather than a hotel. We loved all the country charm both inside the hotel and out in the expansive and beautiful gardens. We ate at both the hotel’s bistro and the more upscale restaurant and both were very good. We thought the meal at the restaurant was perhaps the best meal we had outside Paris during this two-week visit to the area. It definitely deserves its Michelin star.

The hotel staff was very friendly and spoke English without a problem (which was fortunate because we don’t speak French very well). I would like to return again and would recommend Le Vieux Logis to anyone visiting the area.
