We should have known when we selected this restaurant that it may go wrong as the staff appeared inexperienced and uncertain from the start. We were offered little help or guidance in our food choices and although the starter had some promise 'battered' courgettes can be rather boring if you are presented with a whole plateful. Main courses were a disaster: an awful, solid lasagne (with very little meat) and a stodgy tasteless mushroom risotto - guess what accompanied these dishes? Battered courgettes! House wine was more expensive and poorer quality than other restaurants. Dessert was boring. Foolishly, we paid and left disappointed. At least you may learn from our experience.

Ile Rousse has a plethora of restaurants. We ate at L'Agora on 3 nights choosing mainly from the fixed price (mediterranean or Corse) menus at 18.50 Euros for 3 courses plus a complementary aperitif or digestif. The restaurant was bustling from about 7.30pm onward but service was acceptable in terms of its speed. The quantity, quality and choice on the fixed price menu were all good and we choose elsewhere on certain other nights just to sample the differences rather than any dissatisfaction.

Service was extremely poor, considering it was a Tuesday evening in September where it is not at its busiest time extremely disappointing, we waited 15 minutes from being seated to being offered a drink or have order took, food from set menu was average at best and poor at worst , the corsican lasagne was burnt at the base and well overcooked . We then waited 20-30 minutes from finishing mains to have plates cleared. Service was unfriendly slow and frustrating . As my partner said the worst time spent on the holiday was spent at this restaurant.

First off, I'll just say the food wasn't bad at all. I can't really say anything negative about the quality and the presentation so that's a good thing.

The restaurant itelf seems to have a bit of a personality crisis, looking like some sort of bar from the outside and also the menu itself - on part good mediteranean seafood, the other sushi. We didn't try the sushi although it also looked decent from what I could see.

So why only 2 out of 5? Sadly, the service was chaotic and extremely slow. 3 waiters/waitresses were working what is a fairly small restaurant and I could see 3 people working in the kitchen also. This should mean the dishes are flying out and tables are being cleared efficiently. We waited 1 hour for our starters (some fried seafood an grilled vegetables) and another hour for our main course. We had planned to get a desert there too but after spending more than 2.5 hours, we felt it was time to throw in the towel. It was just so frustrating seeing this team of people working there with no system at all... after we finished our starters the waitress walked past the table at least 10 times without taking our empty plates.

Anyway, maybe this isn't such a big problem for some people. In summary - if you have 3 hours to kill it's probably worth a go. For me though, I'm not going to be a returning customer.
