Four play areas, 3 log fires, Comfortable beds if a little squeaky! Surrounded by farms and lovely walks.
Not too far from Montreuil, Le Touquet and the L'eclerc. Ideal break with a 3 generation family with 2 dogs. Superb property and hardly heard a peep from the kids. Surprisingly warm and a real Labyrinth of a place with so much to explore.
We all loved staying here and would do so again if the chance arose.
Just back from an excellent long weekend away with friends at Chateau de Monfort. The house is a perfect venue...plenty of room with cosy spaces in front of a fire. Kitchen perfect for cooking for large groups; with the necessary cooking equipment and two large tables for formal/informal dining.
Perfect balance of being rural but only five minutes from a patisserie, ten minutes to Montreuil-sur-Mer and twenty minutes to the coast.
We enjoyed restful times in the wonderful house......including a massage from Les Massages de Noemi. (Noemi will come to the house), a walk around the ramparts in Montreuil and a trip out for lunch in St Valery-sur Somme.
Chateau de Montfort is a very large and comfortable house. It has 7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need and there are a lot of children's toys. There is a trampoline in the very large garden, a football table inside the house and a table tennis table in the barn.
The only thing we've missed is comfortable garden furniture. Otherwise our stay was perfect.
The surroundings are lovely and there are 2 major beaches within a half hour drive. Truly recommended!
The house is in a great location, mixing French countryside, with the French Seaside.
We had a beautiful weekend, with the whole family, enjoying a break from city life, and taking in the beautiful local beaches. Managed to stumble upon a Kite Fesitval in Berck, and a great market in Le Crotoy. Enjoyed lots of sun, and frites, and wine.
Kits had fun on the ping pong table, and with the badminton, and the beaches, and of course the Wii!
The house is more than charming. The layout of the house with all it's narrow in between hallways and connecting rooms, makes it adventurous and by far the best house to play hide and seek we have rented in our 10 year experience.
We referred to it as magical. Which is because you can get lost a little, because the owners have not cleansed it from their personal belongings leaving the house with wall decoration, books, games (yes also video games) with a story.
If you only like modern clean design hotels, this is not for you. But if you like to feel French in France, with of course the comfort of wifi, heating, baths and a fine kitchen then do not hesitate.
A truly beautiful house in tranquil rural surroundings..The house had everything we needed for the whole family (7 months to 70 years old), a real home from home, full of books, toys and bucket and spades for the kids through to bikes to cycle to the local shop and a table tennis table which seemed to bring out everyones competitive streak! The house is spacious with a large established garden and has many beautiful original features however is comfortable rather than plush, but the beds and linens are new and fresh, the house was well cleaned and cared for and we never ran out of hot water in the morning.
Worth noting that 2 of the 3 bathrooms are only accessible through bedrooms including the only stand alone shower in the house.
All dealings with the owner were very efficient and the welcome we received on arrival was friendly and helpful - we would love to visit again
