We stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised as to how nice it was. Our room, No,5 was in the courtyard and very quiet. It was clean, large, a comfortable bed and bathroom was good. A facility to make tea or coffee would have been nice. Breakfast was very nice, with lots of choices including eggs, bacon etc if you wanted it. The bar is very cosy and welcoming. The hotel staff we met were very courteous and friendly, overall for the price we enjoyed our stay.

Rustic but comfortable and clean. Slept well, which is unusual. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Excellent range of the unusual as well as run of the mill drinks in the cozy bar with impressive fireplace. Can't fault it for the price. Montreuil itself is a gem of a place. First time. Fabulous!

It is over 10 years since we visited the lovely walled town of Montreuil which is about 45 minutes from Calais. We have stayed in this hotel before and it has lost none of its charm! The rooms are comfortable, clean and welcoming, The staff members are great and some English is spoken. There was a roaring log fire and the mousseux was 3.50 euros a glass which kept my wife happy - I stuck to the Leffe Brune which is stunning!

Our evening meal was at the restaurant next door. I would recommend the 32 euro menu and go for the foe gras followed by cote d'agneau , all washed down with a bouteille of Cote du Bourg...fab! A glass of Montbazillac with the cheese platter to round off a cracking meal.

Parking was 9 euros but you can park on some of the side streets.

Room Tip: Room numbers 6 and 7 were very quiet.

We actually booked rooms in the Patio, the hotel next door to this, but arrived to find that we had been moved to Les Hauts as the Patio was closed on Thursdays. Odd that they didn't tell us when we booked... but Les Hauts was a lovely little place. We were out in the courtyard in what looked like converted stables - warm and comfortable, and our only complaint was the lack of a hospitality tray. We didn't eat here in the evening but the bar was warm and cosy with a ancient and huge fireplace - very nice place to sip brandies after we had eaten out. The hotel was built in 1537 and has been beautifully maintained - we would like to have seen more of it than just the bar, reception and the breakfast room. The breakfast was served out in a large sunny room in the courtyard and if we had wanted to we could have eaten our money's worth even at 9 euros each - not only bread and croissants and pain au chocolat but also local specialities and eggs, cheese, ham, cereal... you name it they seemed to have it! And the staff were friendly and helpful. the location is right in the middle of Montreuil, a pretty walled mediaeval town close to Le Touquet, so ideally placed for the north coast of France. And free parking close by as well as the hotel parking - what more could we want. The only reason we have given 4 not 5 is the strange shift from what we had actually booked.....

Dear sir, madam,
It's strange because normaly when Le Patio is open or close you have your room Inside. But it's the same proprietary so we propose if you want to see and take a room in Les hauts de Montreuil. It's only a proposal, and you choose. But thank you for your comment and your note. I'm happy to see that you spent a good moment. Sorry for my English language. Regards

We stayed here last year and it was great. As a family of 4 it was exactly what we were looking for. We returned to find that it has had some changes due to a new manager or owner or something.........we like what they have done downstairs and making the old restaurant a bar area but they have removed the tea and coffee facilities that they used to have and we find this strange as after traveling for a few hours you always need a cuppa.
Their wifi seems to be none existent now as well as we struggled to get any signal in our room.
We shall stay there again as the room really fits our needs but feel the removal of the tea and coffee is not a good decision.

Room Tip: The family rooms are room 26 and 28, the later having enough beds to sleep 5

Dear madam, dear sir,
I'm glad to see that your stay was fine.
For information the tray with tea and coffee was removed before the hotel was acquired. I am amazed that the wifi didn't work while family rooms are all equipped with it.
I hope to see you in a fiew month.
regards
