Lovely large room and bathroom with a view across the square. Pleasant reception staff. Nice and central in the town and extremely close to The Wine Society! Reasonable continental breakfast but nothing special.

This was actually our first time staying at Best Western hotel in Europe. This hotel exceeded our expectations because it was an impressive place to stay. It was definitely the largest room I ever stay in Europe. We had 4 beds and room that was size of an small apartment. Check-in was a breeze. The front desk staff was friendly and informative. Our room rate included breakfast for 122 euros. The hotel is within walking distance to quaint city center of Montreuil, where several stores and restaurants are located at the main square. Parking available in front of hotel.

This Best Western was perfect for our short stay to see the spectacular 'Les Miserables' outdoor light show. The surrounding area is faultless with every back street and alley lit and perfectly setting the scene for Les Miserables. You can certainly see where Victor Hugo got his inspiration for his novel.
The hotel is somewhat lacking, but is almost, quaint and very french. The bathroom was very clean and the room as a whole was spacious, albeit dated, the room wasn't tired by any means, it almost had a charm to it.
The breakfast was adequate to say the least, but was filled with gorgeous pastries and french breads and was exactly what I was wanting, although if your looking for a hearty breakfast, you probably would be disappointed.
Overall, great, almost perfect for the needs in which I needed the hotel for. Would I go back? Definitely.

Room Tip: You essentially get what you pay for, I slept very well in the large bed and bathroom was very very...

We stayed here purely because we only had one night in Montreuil and the other hotels mostly had a 2 night minimum policy. As other reviewers have said, the outside is lovely and full of character but the inside is drab, soulless and basic. Our room was large but featureless. The bed was comfortable however and the area is very quiet so we slept well. The communal areas, particularly the stairs and corridors, are on the dark side and strangely furnished with random pieces of furniture that seem to have come from local junk shops - sagging chintz chairs, 1970's tan leather sofas etc.

Unlike other reviewers, we did not experience a warm welcome, instead the man on reception was brusque beyond the point of rudeness, especially when we asked him how we could find the entrance to the Wine Society to take our car round and load up. In fact, he deliberately misled us by saying if we drove into the back (which is in fact the entrance to the Wine Society) we would be in the hotel car park and would be charged.

I agree with other reviewers that you would be crazy to pay for hotel parking when there are numerous free spaces right outside the door. We did not eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food - there is a nice tea room around the corner which does a perfectly adequate French breakfast.

In short, keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed. This is an adequate hotel for a very short stay in a lovely town, if a tiny bit overpriced given the lack of atmosphere or welcome.

Stayed two nights for Wine Society dinner. Montreuil great for enjoying food and wine, with peaceful surrounding countryside. Hotel was comfortable (huge beds) with the amenities you'd expect from a three star chain. Staff friendly and helpful.

Very good for a base for the area and Montreuil is a splendid place in its own right. Bigger hotel than I would normally stay in but remembered it from a previous visit. Nice large room but very little drawer space. However bathroom large and well appointed with plenty of shelf space which is often overlooked. Staff very obliging and the bar is very welcoming. Breakfast room ok but we preferred to go outside for better experience and value. They still put the cost on our room though but no problem in removing it however something to watch. Own small car park but plenty of public parking outside. Usual Best Western standard so good if you do not want to take a chance

Room Tip: Reception can be noisy so avoid rooms 1 and 7 if you are sensitive in that respect. However there wa...

We've been staying here for many years and just had a couple of nights (February 2014). Always a very comfortable hotel - big rooms, comfortable beds, pleasant bathrooms. Our room had clearly just had a redecoration - don't know if this applies to all rooms.

Breakfasts have slightly changed with no hot dishes of scrambled eggs and bacon any more - sadly missed - but a big selection of the normal continental options. At 13 euros, breakfast is not value for money. But the rooms are at c. 190 euros for 2 x 2 nights. Car parking expensive within the hotel car park - but no need to use this as always plenty of spaces in the square outside so don't waste your money on their parking fees. (Best Western note - this always used to be free).

But aside from my carps about breakfast and the car park, a very good hotel and always an interesting destination.

Room Tip: Never had a bad room at this hotel
