All places look good in the sunshine and the smooth waters of the Seine flowing some 20m away added to the picture. Good service and food. Have the courage of your own convictions and drive under the railway - less hairy than it looks at first sight, unless you have a particularly high car (and it may be possible to reach from along the bank - uncertain).

We had lunch at Les Canisses before visiting Giverny. Sat outside on a lovely, breezy day. Starter was a baked egg dish with smoked fish bits scattered over the top and a milk dressing. Unusual but quite wonderful! Main course was chicken with vegetables in a sauce with turmeric. But that does not begin to describe it because it came presented as a Gaugin painting from Tahiti, with the colors of peppers and carrots against the yellow background of the sauce. Quite special.

We recommended Les Canisses to friends we traveled with and they all went and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think you will, too.

Good quality ingredients, and nice use of local produce.

Excellent freshly cooked food. Good well priced wines. Would definitely go back.
