“Great place for visiting Rousillon”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

The house was a bit hard to find as it’s in a village without a street address, but the GPS coordinates got us there. Our room was very nice as were our hosts; the breakfast good and the common areas inviting. They had a nice swimming pool which was great as the weather was a bit warm. Unfortunately the owners were entertaining guests each evening during our two day stay, and since they gathered and talked well into the evening right outside our room, sleeping was difficult. I would stay there again if I could have a room at the back of the house. It’s a great location for exploring Rousillon and the surrounding area.

Room Tip: A room in the back of the house would be a good choice.

Truly, this place was a gem, in every sense. Owner Christiane and Bob were kind, friendly and genuine. They went the extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay. They were friendly to our kids and were always checking to make sure we were ok. Bob especially, who speaks no English and us no French was such a pleasant host. He tried his best to communicate to us. Extremely hardworking man, and together with his wife, they kept the property Spick and span. Highly recommended!

Thank you Christiane and Bob for your warm hospitality. Thanks to TripAdvisor and the reviewers who have contributed to this property. We managed to find this lovely property where we stayed for 2 nights. Christiane was very prompt to our reservation enquiries. We arrived late in the evening and Bob was very helpful. He even helped us with our heavy luggage in the rain. The rooms were clean and spacious as compared to the ones in Paris. I was very impressed by the clean white towels provided in the rooms. Christiane quickly helped us with dinner reservation and we had the best meal in France. Breakfast was great and we loved the home made jams, fresh cherries and croissant. Christiane was also very helpful to show us where we can find lavender fields.

After a few nights in various cities, a quiet place in the countryside was what we were looking for, and this was perfect. The hosts, Robert and Christiane were wonderful, both very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast on the patio was gorgeous and the location was perfect for exploring many small villages in the area. Definitely the highlight of our trip, and looking forward to an excuse to return.

Le Mas Destonge is a jewel we were fortunate to discover thanks to TripAdvisor. We fell in love with the property the minute we walked through their doors. We were traveling with our 18 month old and cannot say enough how hospitable Bob and Christiane were. We spent 4 nights there and they made us feel like it was our own home. The first night we spent in the room Van Gogh and the following 3 nights in the Loft. The only reason we stayed in Van Gogh was because Loft wasn't available the first night we got there. All their rooms are beautifully done and have a unique touch to them. We loved the Loft - even though its a bit inconvenient with the small door, its a huge room with a balcony overlooking the gorgeous outdoors.

Bob & Christiane were perfect perfect hosts and took very good care of us. If we ever go back to Provence, we will absolutely go stay with them. The breakfast they put out is fantastic and very filling. Christiane was very helpful with recommendations around the area including vineyards. She suggested a great restaurant to us for our anniversary celebration which we loved. We loved our stay with them and thank them for making it so comfortable and memorable.

Room Tip: We loved the Loft - even though its a bit inconvenient with the small door, its a huge room with a b...

One of the highlights of our trip through Provence this May was staying with Robert and Christiane at their beautiful Bed and Breakfast just outside of Rousillon. We spent four nights there, day-tripping to a number of beautiful perched cities and going as far as Orange. Our hosts had wonderful suggestions for where to visit, what roads to take, and what restaurants to try. Because of them, we found many little gems that we likely would not have found otherwise. We looked forward to returning each night to our lovely room, comfortable beds, and some of the other guests who became fast friends. Every morning we were treated to fresh croissants, baguettes, cheese, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, tea and coffee in the spacious main hall. Christiane's homemade jams were the icing on the cake! The property is located amidst vineyards an easy five minute drive from Rousillon. The pool and ping pong set made it especially fun for our nine year-old. We could not have felt more welcome.

Room Tip: You will need a car to stay here.

We found this delightful place in the Rick Steves "Provence" book and are so glad we stayed here rather in the town of Rousillon, which was our first plan. It was a very personal experience to be here, meet Christiane and Robert, and enjoy their place. We want to return and rent their vacation cabin for a week. Rooms are spacious and decorated beautifully. Bathroom was large. This old farmhouse has been renovated into a first class B&B.

Early in the morning I took a walk in the country along the farmer's paths to the vineyards. I could have walked all the way to Rousillon if I'd wanted to. We loved the quiet of the place. We hope to return soon!
