On a walking holiday in the Luberon we spent 2 nights at the Hotel Les Sables d'Ocre in Rousillon. Apart from the weather which was not brilliant we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the food was wonderful and all the staff were excellent. The village is quite delightful and well worth a visit. Highly Recommended

We stayed here two nights as part of a pre-booked walking tour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room was fine and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. There is a good size pool and the gardens are nicely landscaped and lit atmospherically at night. We had breakfast and dinner included in our package. Breakfast was a good buffet, although proper coffee would have been welcome. Dinner was tasty and substantial with lots of local produce; fresh aubergine, tomatoes, olives etc with good meat and fish. The limited menu would probably mean that more than two nights dinner would not work well.

We stayed for one night in this hotel in our quest to visit "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France," a list that included Roussillon. The room was spotless, comfortable (a brand new mattress!), and pretty. The pool and garden, which we could see from our little terrace, were lovely, too. The shrubbery around the terraces made them fairly private, too. The staff were excellent: friendly, and helpful (they got us reservations at a very nice little restaurant in nearby Goult, "Les Terraces," when everything else was closed). The town itself is well worth the visit just to see it gorgeous ochre cliffs; you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Our room included a small terrace, which would be particularly nice in warmer weather.

We support the many positive reviews on the website of this hotel. Don't expect a five star hotel but it deserves the rating 'good'. There is a large, free and protected parking, a swimming pool. Our room was spacious enough for us, the breakfast was fine and its location is very convenient and not far away from the heart of Rousillon (although we used our car since we had included Gordes in our journey). Roussilon itself is of course a 'must to see'!!
We stayed there on October 5 2012 and if we would return one day to The Provence we would return to this hotel, among else because of its fair price.

Location is very good - a 15 minute walk to old town Roussillion and a 30 minute drive to all those little towns in Luberon.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room and grounds were clean, but very basic Nothing spectacular, Everything was sort of bland.

I enjoyed our stay at Les Sables for the most part. The rooms are sparse and plain. The bed is hard as rock! Showers are poorly designed so you have to use your limited towels to mop up the water. No shampoo. No coffee service in the room. WiFi is locked. HOWEVER
The staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Seems odd that they have a locking gate on the parking. We brought a bottle of champagne with us and asked for an ice bucket the first night. The second day we stopped into Tara and loved their wine so asked for another ice bucket. The woman joked that we should have put on our reservation that we were drunks. Kinda funny, kinda NOT. The grounds and surrounding area are very beautiful and its a short walk to town. I'd rather stay there then right in town since it seems busy during the day and parking is almost all paid parking.

We stayed in Provence and used hotel sable d'ocre as our base to discover the Luberon villages , although the location of the hotel was fantastic 10 min walk to the cozy little town of Rousillon, however the hotel lacks charm and finess, I wish I had stayed at hostelerie de Roy soleil in menerbes which was a bit more expensive then this hotel but omg you can't even compare the experience,
