Based on reviews that were stellar, we booked this hotel (2 rooms) at sort of the last minute. We had read reviews about the fabulous food, lovely rooms, etc., so we took a chance.
The hotel wasn't bad, but it is much more like a B&B than a hotel. We were very disappointed that when we arrived early afternoon, we were told that we could not have dinner there. Dinner must be booked in the morning. I do think that this is mentioned on their website, but we booked on a travel site and had no idea that we couldn't eat there.
The rooms were very average. The bathroom was the best part with a large walk in shower. However, there was a strong smell of sewer gas in both of the bathrooms of the rooms that we booked. The smell was terrible. We opened the windows, but then we were inundated with flies. Needless to say that although the owners were very nice, we would not stay there again. Breakfast was average, but if you want an egg, you cook it yourself. Overall, not terrible, but not a hotel that I would recommend.

Room Tip: Views are very nice from the back of the hotel.

Thanks to Gilles and Monique who have made la Cle des Champs such a charming and peaceful spot to stay in Provence. We spent 6 nights at the hotel and found Monique's cooking so good, we ate there three nights of the six. Both Gilles and Charlotte gave us great advice on other places to eat. All in all, this is a special place and the owners and staff make you feel like you are at home. Definitely a great spot to stop while you explore Provence!

A quiet and clean room in a beautiful provencal villa settled in a lovely countryside near Roussillon where the owners-managers are friendly and helpful and really make you feel at home. Nice breakfast with a large choice of fresh products. Jacuzzi with the sun setting on the the Luberon.
An outstanding halt !

The views of the rolling countryside are lovely, and the location was convenient for easy day trips in the Luberon area. Gilles and Monique are warm, friendly and easy-going. We especially appreciate Gilles' detailed advice on area hiking and Monique's wonderful cooking. We liked Monique's cooking so much, we dined at the hotel for three of the evenings! (It's important to reserve ahead.) Five nights at "Hotel la Cle des Champs" - and it was hard to leave!

We spend three days at Hotel la Cle des Champs and it was faultless. Firstly, it is not a normal hotel - think of a beautiful provencal villa. It feels more like you're staying with a family (in a good, non-obtrusive way) that with just a business. We only had dinner there one night, but it was outstanding and restaurant quality. Having dinner under the stars was very romantic.Make sure you let Giles or Monique know beforehand though if you intend to eat there. The breakfast is well worth the 15 euro and all tastes are catered for. Giles and his family / staff were happy to make some great recommendations of well-priced restaurants in the area, off the beaten track in the surrounding villages. Great place to use as a base for exploring Roussilon, Goult, Gordes, Bonnieux etc. Just wonderful and the highlight of our honeymoon in provence.

We had a lovely 2 nights here. Our hosts Gilles and Monique were very warm and accommodating. This is a lovely home away from home in Provence just a few km from Rouissillon.

We loved the charm of this boutique and modern hotel, and their choice of china ware in the dining room is lovely.

Our portable Garmin GPS and our in rental car GPS both struggled with the address, but fortunately we arrived in the area with hours of daylight remaining, and were able to seek assistance from locals.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting with lovely views from the pool area and each room. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. It was a peaceful and healing place. This is a great hotel to explore the surrounding countryside from. Gilles made great suggestions for restaurants too.
