We loved our stay here! The hotel felt more like a peaceful resort. It is outside roussillon, surrounded by trees, but easily accessible. The view from the pool is amazing. We used the pool, jacuzzi and steam room and mostly had them to ourselves because the hotel is fairly small. Our rooms were clean, cool and comfortable and we slept very well. Breakfast was delicious and eaten poolside with the beautiful views. We did a lot of driving around provence and felt we were in one of the most beautiful parts. I will definitely be back to take advantage of cycling in Provence and will stay again at Hotel la Cle des Champs.

Staying here was a real highlight of our driving holiday through Provence. Situated just outside of Roussillon (with a stunning view of the hill top village and surrounding countryside), this retreat is simply beautiful. Great room, pool, gardens and communal areas. Even better from our host who accommodated and anticipated everything. A real gem. Stay here!

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a marvelous experience with La Cle des Champs. We came with our 2 young daughters and my mother and everyone had a lovely time. Giles and Monique are so incredibly hospitable and charming, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms impeccable and large. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and ate at the hotel as often as we could. The grounds are lovely, the pool is perfect and the setting is central. We took day trips to Gordes, Lourmarin, and Avignon et al. Giles was very helpful with recommendations, reservations, and ideas for our little family to partake in Provence. As my mother said, this was the best vacation ever! Thank you Giles and Monique!

We stayed there for 4 nites. The owner and his staffs were vey friendly and helpful. Location was good, just 10 min drive to roussillon or gordes, very convenient. We liked to sit by the pool and do some reading or take a nap, or look at the starry sky at the little patio of our room. The room was clean though there was smell from the bathroom which made it not perfect. I will still recommend this hotel.

We stayed three nights at la Clé des Champs. From the minute we walked in we felt at home. The owner, Gilles, and his staff are constantly on hand and very helpful with ideas for restaurants and places to visit in the area. The bedroom was clean, light and airy; the bed was one of the best hotel beds we have ever slept on. Breakfast was copious and varied. A large glass of fresh orange juice and a croissant were ready on our table when we sat down. We ate dinner at the hotel on two evenings. Gilles's wife cooked a simple but imaginative meal. The wine list, local, was not long but perfectly adequate.

La Clé des Champs is ideally situated for visiting the Lubéron. Highly recommended.

Based on reviews that were stellar, we booked this hotel (2 rooms) at sort of the last minute. We had read reviews about the fabulous food, lovely rooms, etc., so we took a chance.
The hotel wasn't bad, but it is much more like a B&B than a hotel. We were very disappointed that when we arrived early afternoon, we were told that we could not have dinner there. Dinner must be booked in the morning. I do think that this is mentioned on their website, but we booked on a travel site and had no idea that we couldn't eat there.
The rooms were very average. The bathroom was the best part with a large walk in shower. However, there was a strong smell of sewer gas in both of the bathrooms of the rooms that we booked. The smell was terrible. We opened the windows, but then we were inundated with flies. Needless to say that although the owners were very nice, we would not stay there again. Breakfast was average, but if you want an egg, you cook it yourself. Overall, not terrible, but not a hotel that I would recommend.

Room Tip: Views are very nice from the back of the hotel.

Thanks to Gilles and Monique who have made la Cle des Champs such a charming and peaceful spot to stay in Provence. We spent 6 nights at the hotel and found Monique's cooking so good, we ate there three nights of the six. Both Gilles and Charlotte gave us great advice on other places to eat. All in all, this is a special place and the owners and staff make you feel like you are at home. Definitely a great spot to stop while you explore Provence!
