So Happy to be at the Fleur, lovely staff and owners, perfect rooms, pool and wellness spa, well sighted at the top of the town, crowned by stunning food, with the restaurant frequented by locals (french and expats alike). A personal service too is such a nice touch.. But best of all is the jar of caramel sweets at reception.. I thank the owners and staff for their attentiveness and their ethos.

We just returned from our one week stay in Châtel. This year we picked this hotel because it had a pool, a jacuzzi, a hamam and a sauna. Additionally, it had been partly renovated and the new rooms looked very nice. We were not disappointed. We had a room which was suited for 4 people (our children slept in the upstairs part of the room). We had two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The room was very comfortable, clean and everything was in working order. My brother stayed in one of the non-renovated rooms with his two children. It was spacious and clean and everything functioned in it. Obviously it was not as charming as the newer rooms but it had a big balcony and a nice view over the snowy valley. The receptionist was very helpful, she organized our passes for the ski lifts which saved a lot of time. We would have had to queue up otherwise at one of the desks at the ski station. We also went to the ski rental place about 300 meters down the road that the hotel advised. We got a 10% discount and they were excellent in the rental shop in helping us choose the right equipment and getting the ski boots right. We had breakfast every morning at the hotel. The view from the restaurant/breakfast area was magnificent. The breakfast was excellent. Just they had a few problems with their coffee machine but they made sure we got coffee and that's what counts! It was set up buffet style with cheese, fruits, fruit salad, cakes, breads, apple juice, orange juice, yogurts, smoked salmon, teas, etc. You could order eggs if you wished. The spa area was kept clean daily. Everything was in working order. At the beginning of the stay, the hotel was not full and so we were nearly just among ourselves in the pool, jacuzzi, etc. But as the weekend approached the hotel filled up and one evening it was literally too crowded and I did not have the patience to wait my turn in the sauna, etc. But that is the price of success I guess. Yet we got to enjoy it nearly every evening after a day of skiing and it was definitely relaxing and a great plus. The kids loved it and when they were not skiing, they were in the pool (which has colored lights and that looks great once the sun is down). We had two meals in the restaurant also (diner). The food was excellent. A bit pricey but that's a bit normal in France. But nothing negative to say about the meals, just we could not afford to eat there every night. We would have taken the meals included in the stay except that it would cut out the possibility of eating elsewhere and trying other places which is part of the fun of going somewhere-not to just stay in the hotel all the time. So perhaps if the hotel worked out a good deal with a few complimentary meals or packages, more people would eat at night. In any case, it doesn't seem to be a problem as the restaurant is pretty much full at nights and you have to reserve even if you stay in the hotel. So it must be popular in the area. The service was fine, the rooms were cleaned daily and reception provided anything you could ask for. Just one point, they don't quite have enough parking space for all their guests when the hotel is full. If you don't get back to the hotel soon enough you have to park a good way from the hotel which is not very convenient after a tiring day skiing. Overall, we had a great time, the weather was perfect for skiing, we had snow and sunshine and the hotel was just the right place for a good rest after a big day on the slopes.

Room Tip: Chose a room with a view of the valley at the back, the rooms on the front road side are a bit noisi...

Stayed five nights in Chatel over February half-term and could not have been happier with the hotel we chose. The Fleur de Neige is comfortable, clean and warm with good quality rooms, convenient facilities and a good restaurant. The staff are extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. One of our daughters is a very fussy eater, and the hotel was very flexible to finding something that worked. Any complaints? No, except a really good cup of coffee for breakfast, instead of the standard coffee machine, would be an asset.

This was our 4th year at Fleur de Neige and this Feb half-term week was our best yet. Excellent, friendly service and great facilities. We'd booked a family room Prestige room and the hotel gave us an additional complementary room which the kids were impressed with - they are not cheap but very nice and good value for the facilities. We all used the pool, jacuzi, sauna and steam room every evening. Breakfast is great, and we had an excellent meal in the restaurant on our last evening.

We stayed here for a long weekend skiing in January. The hotel staff were very welcoming and the room, although small, was very clean and with high quality fittings. Free internet was also a bonus.

Breakfast was good quality but expensive however the dinner was superb value and excellent food. Unfortunately we didn’t try the restaurant until the 3rd evening after eating in the village restaurants for the first couple of nights. We wished we had eaten there every evening.

The pool, sauna and steam room are a little basic but clean and a definite plus.

I booked an overnight stay with dinner in the restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday in January. Our room was very comfortable. well decorated & clean with a balcony giving us a lovely view of the mountains, there was a facility to make tea & coffee in the room, a great shower, plenty of towels provided, plus dressing gowns & slippers. We used the pool, jacuzzi & steam room in the spa area, very enjoyable. The staff are very friendly & professional, nothing is too much trouble, our meal in the restaurant was excellent, with good advice as to which wine to choose & a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is very well situated in the village & as other guests have commented, the restaurant is frequented by locals, we live a 45 minute drive away & had previously dined in the restaurant. Although we only stayed overnight, we both felt totally relaxed, as if we had been away for longer. We will certainly be going back.

Spent a long weekend here in January. Have stayed in few hotels in few ski resorts over the past couple years and have to say this is by far the best I've come across. The hotel has clearly been recently refurbished to a high standard in reception and I think most of the rooms. There may be more basic rooms in the lower ground floor. The hotel is family run and the staff were all very welcoming and warm and very willing to help. It was easy to get lift passes arranged and ski hire discount coupons. The rooms are to high standard of decor with a good wifi connection and plenty hot water and heating. We have a view from our balcony down over the village.
We ate in the hotel on two nights and the standard of food was excellent. The dining room was popular with non residents as well which, as others have said, is a good sign.
Look forward to returning.

Room Tip: No lift to upper floor. Not a problem for us but you might want to consider if needing access by lif...
