That was not a bad place for a quick stop in Chatel. On the plus side a rather nice chalet decor, a good swimming pool and hammam, an excellent breakfast and, above all, a good and friendly service. On the minus side a small fitness place with a non working sauna, thin walls and a ridiculously narrow double bed (plus lots of kids... but some will find it a good point!!). So in our opinion, a good option for a short stay. We didn't try the spa that is looking rather nice.

Great welcome and showaround, pleasant south facing room with balcony (bathroom a little small but nicely done), log fire in the evening and staff smiling and greeting guests where ever you met them, including the car park when coming on duty. Jeremy in the restaurant was most professional and hospitable, along with the maitre d' - just one waiter with a pony tail who was not at the same standard as the others.

Well equipped ski room with boot heaters in the individual lockers made for easy coming and going and the ski bus was very convenient for guests. The chef/proprietor also manages the ski room and personally gave our skis a much needed service and the edges were very sharp for the hard conditions.

It really shows that the owners are fully involved in the day to day running of this lovely hotel and we are already planning another visit next winter.

Chose The Macchi based on tripadvisor recommendations, and am very happy to report that it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived and had a personal show around the hotel, including meeting the hotel dog, we enjoyed every minute. Our room was very comfortable with lots of storage space, a nice bathroom and seperate loo, comfy bed, and small balcony facing the front of the hotel. Housekeeping were great, and very kind in tidying up our bits and pieces on the occasion that our room was a little messy!
The food is truly brilliant, and we would highly recommend the dinner, bed and breakfast option. There is a set menu, but you can swap options with a sort of a la carte menu on the side - we never did as the food was so good. Loved having cheesey straws nibbles in the lounge area with a pre-dinner drink. Breakfast is lovely - there is a chef on duty to cook your eggs or pancakes in front of you, and lots of different hot and cold options.
We drove to Chatel and so didnt use the minibus service that takes guests to the lift each monring. It was a bit tiresome having to drive to and from the slopes each day, but free parking by the lift and in the hotel made it ok. Chatel the village wasnt anything that exciting - we went for a walk one evening and werent that enthused by what we saw.
The indoor pool was a bit chilly for us, and the jacuzzi didnt have any bubbles, but the steam room and sauna were really nice.
Cant wait to return next season! Thank you so much for an amazing stay.

Difficult to criticise perfection. We arrived to be given an entire guided tour of the hotel by Michele before being shown to our room. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure the comfort of the guests. The rooms were very comfortable and the spa area was very well equipped for a hotel of this size. The evening meals were extremely well presented with each course being well described by the attentative, yet discreet, staff. A wonderful holiday despite the less than seasonal weather.

Honestly nothing to criticize about the hotel. The staff was very friendly, the room was large, clean, comfortable and well decorated. The spa (swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna) was really nice. The hotel itself is a beutiful chalet, in a very charming little town. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
