We stayed for a week here in September self catering.
The positives:
Friendly staff
Pretty pool area
Great location for Piskopiano village, near restaurants and bars.
Handy shop selling everything you need

Negatives:
The numerous groups of youngsters, I presume on their first holiday away from their parents. As you can guess they were extremely rowdy around the pool area in the afternoon. The mornings were normally quiet and peaceful because they were sleeping the alcohol off from the night before.
Small apartment, with the very basics in cutlery and utensils.
Was disappointed that air con had to be purchased, we suffered the first 2 nights then gave in and bought the air con.

The walk from Hersonnisis is very steep and hard to walk in the heat. We often walked down then got a taxi back.

Overall an average accommodation but you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Visit David's restaurant within walking distance of Mike appts. I would advise a room as far aw...

we stayed here in August for 2 weeks after a mix up with other accommodation and were delighted with a room over looking the pool although a little noisy at times it did not spoil our holiday the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the prices in the shop were very reasonable the bedding and towels were changed regularly. Its only a five minute stroll to the main village. We would have no hesitation in returning here

We stayed in mika the first week in september.I had read some horror stories before going.people have to realise that you get what you pay for.It was a very cheap holiday at only 299.00 euros for a week.We found the room basic but very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.I would advise that you ask to stay at the lower end with the bigger pool if you want a quiet stay.nice pool and beer very cheap from the onsite shop.I would stay there again no problem.

Before arriving we had read mixed reviews, but we were happy with our stay here in September. The rooms were small and basic but were fine as you only really use them for sleeping in. They were comfortable and the staff were friendly. Mika apartments are in a very good location in Piskopiano and a short trip to Hersonisos, however I would recommend getting a quad to get up the hill and going to see the sights. I would definitely go back to this area as there is lots of choice with different apartments.

We stayed here from the beginning of July and we were a little bit worried - the initial reviews weren't that good - but it was very, very cheap and it was exactly the location we wanted to stay. But on arrival, we were very pleased (particularly as the drop offs before us looked a bit rubbish).

Situated in the gorgeous Piskopiano, it's a bit of steal. Upon arrival, the staff were very friendly and showed us to our room. And... it was basic. But anyone expecting the Ritz from the price must be mad. It's exactly as you'd expect - not amazing, but honestly not really that bad.

So, the bad points first. The kitchen is a bit rubbish - a hot plate, a fridge and some plates and glasses - we doubted you could actually cook anything. The sheets and towels weren't changed regularly enough, especially considering the heat. The shower was also a little bit broken.

The low price also does attract the budget sun seekers. So there were a lot of 'on tour whooop' types around the pool. It didn't really seem like a resort for families, but that was fine because we were a young couple and one of many, along with said 'on tour whooop' groups.

But we really liked it. We plumped for a room upgrade before we landed and the room was huge with two balconies. We paid extra for air con and that meant that we had a very comfortable sleep. We were also situated away from the noisy late night bar - again a real blessing.

The pools, they have two, are decent enough. The bigger one has a bar serving food and drinks and pumping out tunes. The smaller one situated near the resort's bar was alright - although we only used that once. The bar itself we steered clear of, simply as there were better ones nearby.

Piskopiano is the real draw. It's achingly beautiful. Dozens of beautiful (and cheap) restaurants and tavanas all along a main strip just up the hill - the first bar being about a five minute walk. A mix of Greek and European food, including some proper local restaurants.

The main town was about a 20 minute walk down the hill and that's a bit like Malia Lite. We went down a few times, but we much prefered Piskopiano for the price of the bars and restaurants, and the atmosphere, which was much, much nicer.

I would recommend Mika to my friends. Although the Piskopiano Villas just down the road looked by far the nicest of the local hotels - and we'd definitely try to stay there next time.

Room Tip: Cough up for a room upgrade - normal rooms looked pretty small. Make sure you're not near the m...

We stayed here for two weeks this July and enjoyed being at the Mika Villas. The room was quite small and basic but it was clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A lady called Helen was happy to give us advice about the local bus service, beaches and attractions and she was always smiling and cheerful. The view from our balcony was lovely as we could see the pool on one side and the sea on the other, and the grounds of the complex were picturesque and well cared for.
As we did want to cook in the room on a couple of occasions, we could have done with more kitchen equipment/ utensils but this did not create a big problem. Things like corkscrews, tea towels, washing up liquid, hand soap etc are not included so you will either need to take these with you or buy them at the supermarket or the on- site shop. Using the shower did tend to make the floor of the bathroom wet but again this was not a big problem for us.

We spent most evenings in Koutouloufari Village which was a short and pleasant walk up the hill and left from the hotel and offered a large selection of restaurants with lovely views down to the sea. Old Hersonissos was a slightly longer walk up the hill and then in the other direction (there is a Greek music and dancing night in the square on Monday evenings that is well worth a visit). The walk down the hill into the main town of Hersonissos is not too long and quite pleasant but probably would not suit young children or those with limited mobility.
Overall we had a really enjoyable holiday. I would recommend this accomodation to anyone who wants a friendly and affordable place to stay. It is a good base to explore the three villages and the town of Hersonissos - as long as you don't mind some walking.

Room Tip: Some rooms on the ground floor of the complex we stayed in (the one with the larger pool) do not hav...

we booked this as a last minute holiday and stayed between 7th july and 21st july 2013 .After booking i was a little worried after reading some of the reviews ,but on arrival the place was lovely we were placed in the quieter mika 2 a few families both english and dutch and the first week was quiet even though mika 1 was full of young loud irish 18#30 type travellers ,the second week was a lot more rowdy and on there first day some of the younger travellers made life very uncomfortable for the other guest and the owners , we talked to the rep who assured us that as the week went on we would see less and less of them as they would be in bed !!!! and that the hotel is advertised as young and lively , as the second week went on we did see less of them but they arrived mid afternoon round the pool , the owners of the complex couldnt do enough for you if you had a problem and were also at there wits end with the youngsters , i do feel that even though they seperate you into the 2 complexes that they do need to decide which client base they want as the two dont mix ,Everyone has the right to holiday how they wish as long as it doesnt infringe on others and unfortunatly the family and 18-30 holidays are miles apart .But on a whole we had a lovely holiday and the surrounding villages had lovely resteraunts . the rooms were cleaned daily and towells changed twice a week and sheets after 1 week .The supermarket on site is very reasonably priced and the staff very pleasant
