“Great value for the price hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2011

Staff are among the friendliest and most competent I've seen in the whole greece helping with everything from trip organization to explaining history or geography (owner attended, so there is warm welcome). Nice rooms with comfortable matresses and equipped kitchen and fridge, so you don't depend to go out for meals or breakfast. Location is for me excellent: just 50 meters from the magnificient seaside and not more than 300 meters from the centre of Adamas. Lovely atmosphere all around... I will definitely come back next time I visit Milos!!!

Our family of five just returned from 4 days on Milos (late June 2008). We stayed at the “Hotel Apartments Aphrodite of Milos” in the port town of Adamas. The hotel is located 5-10 minutes easy walk from the ferry dock, in the quiet part of town as advertised.

Coming off the ferry, facing the town, follow the only/main road to the left. If you arrive at night, the area to the left will seem darker and less appealing than the lively, brightly-lit waterfront area to the right. No matter, just go left, the road will turn a corner to the right, follow this and the hotel will be in front of you.

The location was perfect for us, very quiet at night, yet close to the town and beach. If you have a rental car, continue on the same road for a quick and easy exit from Adamas without having to backtrack through the busy waterfront area.

We stayed in a larger suite with living room, kitchen and two bedrooms. The balconies don’t have much of a view, but have handy clotheslines for your towels and swimsuits. If you have a lot to hang, there’s more clotheslines on the roof (top of the stairs).

The kitchen was fully equipped, air conditioning worked well, all for a very reasonable price. Really no complaints about this hotel. Bathroom was small but functional, typical for older Greek hotels. Everything seemed well maintained and worked fine.

The main asset of this hotel is the hospitality and management of Nikolas Mathioudakis. He is completely on top of things, super helpful and friendly. Despite the late hour of our arrival he stayed to greet us and was eager to provide information about Milos, marking up a map of the top places around the island. Throughout our visit he checked in to make sure our visit was going well and to see if we needed anything.

We chose this hotel based on the favorable mention at the “milosisforlovers” website run by Andreas, a TripAdvisor expert and a friend of Nikolas. Andreas helped us with the reservation and was able to accept the room deposit via Paypal (a huge benefit compared to wired funds). You can google the hotel name for more detailed information including a diagram of the apartment layouts.

We are happy to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milos. Nikolas was an excellent host on a beautiful island.

  • Liked — Warm and generous host, property is well managed.
  • Disliked — Older building, decor and fixtures -- but not important for a vacation base.
