“Top Notch Service, Beautiful Views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

I won't repeat the layout descriptions. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite called Roza. The Suite consists of a sitting area, kitchen and 2 bedrooms, one of which is in the loft. The pool was shared along with the 4 chaise lounges. It is in a great location, walkable to everywhere. George was so kind, helpful and courteous. There happened to be a fire in the power station that created a power outage for the entire island, including cell service for our phone and water. Everyone was so gracious, providing candles, water bottles and any help that we needed. It did provide for a fantastic view of the night stars!

The only thing that I wasn't prepared for, although I should have been was the 62 stairs that led to our room. I have RA and that was difficult for me to get up and down, however, for anyone that can easily handle this adventure, it is all a part of the charm.

We stayed in this fantastic property in February 2013. This is a boutique hotel with only 4 rooms. We had traveled in the lean season and hence got a great rate. The caldera area of the island of Santorini is "mind-blowing" and this hotel accentuates that experience. The owner of the hotel, George, is a remarkable man and he ensured that we had a memorable stay. He was there to receive us, picked up our luggage, served a sumptuous breakfast and gave us all the details that was required. The view from the hotel will mesmerize you (that is true for a number of spots in the island) and you can enjoy the sunsets without going far from your room. Another special feature is the design and the layout of the rooms. The hotel does not have any restaurants but you will have a number of eateries nearby.

We will love to stay there once again.

We stayed for 2 nights. I chose this hotel because of very high reviews on Trip Advisor, and they were right!

Room: It's a boutique hotel with only 4 rooms, and our suite had a beautiful design, comfortable bed and couch, free wi-fi, and a very nice view of the sea & sunset.

Service: On our first day, the staff gave us free wine. Breakfast starts at 9 am, which was a bit later than what we're used to, but if you ask beforehand they will provide it a bit earlier too. Also, on the day of the check-in, the staff picked us up from the airport for free. This was very nice. Note: After check-out on the last day, we needed to take a taxi this time. The private cab was expensive considering its short distance to the airport, so it's better to ask for exact options beforehand.

Location: Good restaurants nearby. Also easily walkable to Fira, which has more food & shopping places as well as the central bus station.

Overall, we had a very good experience here.

I put hotel in between bracket as at Ikastikies you never have the feeling to be in a hotel...you really feel at home!!! The staff does everything to make your stay unique. They are always present and ready to help you but without being oppressive! From the arrival till the departure they will do their best to satisfy your requests! This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Santorini island with an outstanding service!

The structure is composed of 4 different apartments, each of them with its own particular charme. The quality of the accommodations is very high, build in old caves and in the typical white Greek style. One of the apartments has its own private pool, while for the three others you can enjoy the "shared" pool. Sunbeds are available. Two room maids are present there, so you can image that the rooms are very well cleaned each day. Breakfast is home prepared with fresh products and you have enough to avoid lunch.

What else can be said...ah yeah: the location is just amazing! In front of the Caldera with only the sea and the vulcano in front of you. As said in many other reviews, no need to move to Oia to see the sunset. From Ikastikies you can get a perfect view as well. The hotel is located in a very calm area, just at a 10 min walk to the touristic center of Fira. Very good restaurants at 2 min walk (if you like sushis try the Japanese one…delicious) .

I really suggest to people looking for a luxury accommodation in Santorini to book at Ikastikies: you will find great accommodations in combination with a perfect staff! By having traveled to many countries around the world, I would definitely consider Ikastikies one of the three best places I have ever been. Don’t look further: book there!!!

Thanks again to the whole staff: we will never forget Ikastikies and our stay in Santorini!

Room Tip: For a couple I would suggest to book the Oia suite. It has a "rooftop" private balcony wit...

My daughter was here and we were three doors down because couldnt get in here. Best of all would be to book the entire hotel with four couples. The rooms are hyper creatively designed and very tasteful. Great, friendly staff who arranged everything from boat cruises to restaurant transportation, which is a must have.

Although it is a small hotel (only 4 apartments, each of them different and unique), Ikastikies is one of the best hotels (if not the best) in which I have ever stayed.
We were greeted at the parking lot close to the hotel by the owner, George, and a staff member, Alberto, and they took our luggage and guided us towards the hotel.

The first impression that you will have when will look at the view upon arrival at the hotel will be one that will stay with you for the rest of your life, as the hotel just has a perfect location and the view is amazing.
Due to a mistake made by the travel agency, the room that we booked was actually double booked (the same agency booked the same room, for the same period of time to two couples), and George made all the effort to fix the problem. As we have booked the Rozaki suite, but the other couple arrived before us, they've got the suite, but George gave us the Roza apartment which is a lot bigger and very very nice. It is a cave style house carved into the rock and which has all the things that you will need to have a great stay.
As the apartment was available for only 4 nights and our stay was for seven nights, George pushed the workers to finish the renovation of the next-door villa (Sarris), which will only be opened to the public next year, and gave us access to this amazing brand new property. This villa is something that you only dream to stay in, but I and my wife had access to it, just for us for the last 3 nights. This place will be definitely a great hotel when will be opened to the public next year.

The staff at this hotel is wonderful and will not interfere with your holiday at all, but will help you with whatever you will require. Especially Alberto will go above and beyond to fulfill all the requests that you have, but all the other members of the staff are very helpful.
The breakfast is great, with mainly fresh Greek produce, and will be brought to your room or on the terrace every morning.

The hotel is very clean and is well maintained, and is perfectly located so that you can walk to Fira or Imerovigli, or catch a bus from the nearby bus station.

Maybe you have heard of the nice sunset in Oia and how people are gathering there to watch it together. I would like to say that I much more prefer to watch the sunset from the Ikastikies terrace with a nice glass of wine and that the sunset view from here is at the same level with Oia if not better.

Overall, this hotel is AMAZING, the staff more than great, and fully deserves the maximum available rate.

A special note about George, the owner. I really think that more hotel managers/owners should be like him, probably the greatest hotel owner that I've met, who will care only to make your stay one that you will not forget, and to be a perfect host.

PLEASE DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER - BOOK THIS HOTEL!!

I spent months searching for the perfect hotel to stay in for a surprise holiday for my fiancee's 40th birthday. I was looking for something very specific to make it really special and one to remember. We holiday quite a bit, and have experienced everything from cheap European self catering holidays to 5 star long-haul all inclusives.

My fiancee had mentioned picturesque Greece quite a bit and with his love of sunsets I decided
to look at spending the week in Santorini.

I had quite a specific list of requirements that the hotel needed to have, which were:-
- Typically Greek (white and blues, cave style)
- Had beautiful views of the sunsets,
- Was near to the city centre and hustle and bustle of Fira, without actually being in it
- A special premium boutique feel
- A swimming pool
- A private balcony area
- Served breakfast (either on the balcony or pool area)
- A self catering kitchenette (so that we could make our own lunches or have a few balcony nights)

Ikastikies had it all!! I booked the Rosaki apartments the minute I saw it online. The other 3 rooms were fully booked, and i didn't want to loose out.

We were looked after the minute we stepped off the plane - George the hotel owner was there to pick us up from the airport with a welcoming smile, taking our luggage and driving us in air conditioned style to the hotel. On the way he showed us sights and important landmarks and told us some history of the island and it's residents. He also told us that as they'd had a cancellation and so they were upgrading us to the Rosa Apartment!! Result!!!

On arrival at the hotel we again weren't allowed to lift a finger, the bags were taken to our rooms, and we were treated to wine and fruits, so that we could watch the sun set from our perfectly situated terrace. Basically you have a panoramic and un-interupted view of the stunning sunsets which were truly breath taking.

Throughout our stay George and Albert were amazing! They're attentiveness never wavered. They surprised us with a delicious freshly made birthday cake one morning, and went out of their way to do everything and anything they could for us, from serving us fresh locally sourced produce for breakfast at the swimming pool, to involving us in the Easter celebrations - giving us beautifully decorated candles and telling us all about the local festivities. They were always on site and their door was always open to us for suggesting the best restaurants to go to in and around the area! Nothing was wrong with our appartment - it was perfect, but had there have been they would have sorted it in a flash.

We had the holiday of a lifetime here, and the only down side is that we will be hard pressed to beat that now. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can, I cannot stress enough that your search for hotel MUST end here! Book now!
