Certainly not a 5 star establishment BUT authentically Greek with good food and reasonable prices for the location.

Always seemed busy for lunch and dinner when we walked past daily.

The Moussaka was very good, tasty and rich with a unique sweetness to it.

The Greek pasta with vegetables which was also homemade was excellent and a departure from the usual meats and chips typical Greek dishes.

We shared a fried calamari entree which was also tasty, not oily, with a light, crisp batter.

Visit this place. There are very few authentic Greek restaurants in rip off, touristy Santorini but this is one of them.

The meal we had at Aktaion was, hands down, the best meal of our entire Greece trip - and we ate in some fancy places. It was a short walk from our hotel and recommended to us by the hotel staff. This place is a true gem. It was almost completely full when we arrived but they were still able to seat us inside their small indoor area. We would have loved to sit on the patio, which has a water view (definitely make a reservation if you want to sit outside!) but it honestly didn't matter. Every bite of food we ate was delicious. We shared the fava dip, the cuttlefish risotto, and the grilled whole sea bream. The sea bream was the most delicious fish I have ever eaten. It was simply prepared but so fresh and flavorful. The entire meal cost less than $40 with wine which was an amazing deal given the quality of food, and the service was great. They were very attentive, which was impressive given how busy they were that evening. Wish we had discovered this place earlier because we would have eaten here again!

This was a buzzing restaurant for dinner. Luckily our hotel has made a reservation for us, as it was full the night we went, but we had a lovely table on the path just across. The food was really good-basic traditional taverna food, done incredibly well. We went back for lunch one day, also reallygood.

We stumbled upon this place as it was a short walk from our hotel in Firostefani. Note: they open for lunch at 1PM. Prices are very reasonable, on the lower end for Santorini. For starters we had the chloro cheese in phyllo crust appetizer and the fava with onion and capers (it comes pureed). Both were excellent. The moussaka was very flavorful and tasty - highly recommend it. It's very filling and along with starters can easily be split between two people. They bring you water and bread when you sit down, for which you are charged 1 euro per person (this is typical at all restaurants in Greece). Definitely eat here during your stay in Santorini!

The food I ordered was good. The shrimp with spinach - forgot how it was called exactly. My friend did not like the wine and food she ordered.

The place does not have a view. It was clean. The restroom is outside and at the adjacent establishment. But the service is yes, not good. It was not busy when we were there but the waiters were not attentive and don't know how to recommend or probably does not have time to chat with customers.
