“Breathtaking views, lovely hotel, great staff.”
Reviewed 18 September 2013 via mobile

We spent 3 nights but actually 4 days in Sun Rocks and we had great time. The hotel has breathtaking views, very romantic, the service was amazing ( we were very lucky to be upgraded to a honeymoon suite!!) the people in reception, the pool and the manager, did eveything they could to make our stay even better and relaxing. Breakfast is also suberb. Only thing i could say as an area to work around is that rooms are a little bit worn in places which should not be a case for such an expensive hotel. Just a note for the people they talk about the many stairs...this is Santorini! If you want to stay in a caldera ( cliff) hotel in order to have the amazing views you need to bear with the steps...which are not that of an issue if you want to have the stunning view.

My wife and I stayed at the Sun Rocks hotel and our week there was just absolutely amazing. The staff were extremely helpful and highly professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as I could find absolutely no faults with it. I can't wait for a return visit next year.

Room Tip: Everything about this hotel is just fantastic, the junior suite we stayed in had the most spectacula...

Stayed in Sun Rocks for a week in August and I must say it was amazing! The hotel is right in the center of Firostefani so it's very easy to walk to Fira or Imerogvili. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the manager Vagelis. He was very outgoing, always happy to see us and made sure our needs were being met. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Santorini. The hotel is beautiful, but the hotel staff is even better! You won't regret staying here!

Room Tip: It's a cliffside hotel, so there are lots of stairs.

we recently returned from our trip in the Greek islands and we only have nice things to say about Santorini and our stay on Sun Rocks. What an amazing small luxury hotel and service! Makes you feel welcomed and Special. From the first minute we arrived we were shown the hotel by the Manager Evan( small tip: wear comfortable shoes as the steps are too many!). We then went to our room which was minimal decorated and with a balcony from which the view was simply amazing! The next morning we had our breakfast by the pool which was delicious. Maria at the reception, ilias at the restaurant and Evan gave us the best information and were always helpful and available. Many thanks to all the staff for making this trip memorable

We did not enjoy our stay at Sun Rocks. Unfortunately, we arrived in Santorini on the day that the power station blew up meaning that the island was without power. Whilst that was not the fault of Sun Rocks, how they dealt with the problem was pathetic.
Upon arrival, we had to lug our suitcases up from the road and find our way in the dark to the entrance to the establishment. We then had to negotiate 91 steps - yes 91 steps - again in the dark to get to reception and book in.
When we went down for breakfast next morning we were informed by the staff that all we could have was fruit and yoghurt and eggs - why they could cook eggs but nothing else was never explained. The same happened the following day.
What annoyed me was that there was no communication from management about what was happening or when we could expect power back, no apology for the inconvenience and no conversation about a refund for the fact they were unable to provide us with advertised breakfast (or go to another place that had their own generator and could provide cooking) let alone being in the dark at night with no air conditioning.
Even when checking out there was no comment about what had happened, no question as to whether we had enjoyed our stay or what they could have done to make it better. They really gave the impression that they had our money and really didn't care.
My advice - despite the wonderful views don't stay here!

This hotel was absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.When my wife and I arrived we were told that we were being upgraded to the Honeymoon sweet which sounded great at first until we realized that the room had no air conditioning and no hot water. I was told that the air conditioning would be fixed first thing the following morning because it was blowing hot hair all over the room. The hot water lasted for about 1 minute on average and then the rest of the shower was ice cold. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights/4 days and everyday that we were there we complained about the air conditioning not working and the water being cold and EVERY DAY THE STAFF ACTED AS IF IT WAS THE FIRST TIME WE WERE COMPLAINING. Nothing was ever done to correct these issues and on the last day the manager called my wife a liar about our complaints because he knew he was wrong for not doing anything about them. Every time we went into the room we were sweating worse than when we were outside and every night we showered to get ready to go to dinner we had to take ice cold showers. AWFULLLLLLL EXPERIENCE. I argued with the manager who was COMPLETELY ARROGANT and UNAPOLOGETIC. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else. Our complaints meant nothing to them. Once they had our money they could care less and I'm certain that the next couple to stay in that room will go through what we did. Hopefully this review will save you from a potential nightmare. It literally ruined the the end of our honeymoon. We traveled to Athens, Crete and Mykonos as well and the hotels were all amazing and provided everything as promised and the staff was super friendly, personable, caring and helpful. You won't find these qualities at Sun Rocks either, not even close.

We had an incredible holiday with Sun Rocks and we will forever be grateful for what an amazing experience they created for us. It was a very special occasion for us and the exceptional staff catered to our every need with care and attention. From booking private dining experiences, to amazing sailing adventures to last minute massage bookings, the staff were patient, dedicated and friendly. We were further pleased to receive a complimentary room upgrade well beyond our dreams for our holiday. We had a AAA+ holiday and I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. You need to stay at Sun Rocks at least once in your lifetime!
