Some of the nicest and best staff I have ever been my pleasure to meet, and I can only sing their praises. Maria , Ilias , Abi ,Stefano et al ( apologies for any mis-spelling) were delightful ,helpful and always on hand. The views are spectacular, and hotel recommendations on restaurants and trips spot on. This hotel would have rated 100% if I could have turned off the call centre music playing constantly in the bar/pool, Wifi had worked in the rooms and there had been a hand rail on the stairs- a problem particularly when a storm is blowing!

It's a good location. Great views. But it's not entirely worth the money. The rooms are ok, bathrooms are a bit weird, our bathroom was a cave. The hotel has a nice pool deck and the staff are quite friendly, but something about the hotel didn't seem right. Maybe it was just the endless stairs (but that's Santorini!), maybe it was the small bugs, not a bad hotel but by no means the best I have stayed at.

It does have a great Gyros place up the road - Why Not Souvlaki - and of course Pirouni is close by. The hotel does really good cocktails.

Thank you for everything! From the upgrade to the honeymoon suite, the bottle of wine welcoming us to the hotel, the VIP treatment all the way through and the great tips on things to do, this was truly a honeymoon to remember. Marina, Maria, Elias, Alex--outstanding at what they do! Loved every moment of this experience.

Room Tip: Every room is stunning with a view. Depends on how many steps you want between your room and the res...

we stayed for a week at the gorgeous sun rocks and loved every minute.
the attention to detail is phenomenal , stunning location , fab room with a very comfy bed and gorgeous min imal decor- very soothing
we had our own private jacuzzi , staff were very attentive especially maria and steffano - everything was just lovely.
firostefani is a great location - nearby fira is very busy and full of cruise tourists , fab walk to uia along the caldera
food was smae standard everywhere- ok - the hotel breakfasts are fab , nicest meal was in roka in ouia- down a side lane and full of locals- great home cookedfood , would love to return

Room Tip: think they all have a view of the caldera

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was spectacular.
First the pros: rooms were very nice and relatively spacious for the price. All rooms have generous verandas out front with chairs tables and umbrellas, if you can afford it though splurge for a suite(the couple we peeked into were larger than our apartment back home).
Breakfast on the terrace is nothing short of sublime, and is the best breakfast I have ever found in Greece. The location in Firostephani is ideal: it is a 15 minute walk into Fira, is a very quiet neighborhood, and has several good restaurants and a grocery close by. The staff was also very accomodating, we let them know we were comming in early after 2 long days of travel and they were able to have our room ready by 9:00am. We would recommend it to almost anyone. Now the cons, this hotel is built into the cliff and depending on where your room is it is one to several dozen stairs up to the main road. We are both young and fit so this was no problem but older couples and/or people with mobility issues will find this a very challenging place to stay. This also is probably not the hotel for avid luxury seekers. The rooms are sparsely but well decorated, and while the beds were super!!!
That being said this is the most charming hotel I have ever stayed in and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stayed in this hotel with a couple of friends last summer and it was very very pleasant! The location is magical, very close the the center of the life of the island! The pool was really nice and the guys at the bar were very kind and friendly and they gave us a lot of tips for the island, as well as the people at the front desk (Maria and Evan)! The rooms are very comfortable and nicely decorated, and generally it was the best hotel experience ever!

We booked a room for our honeymoon and the room flooded (for it was raining during our first night)! We woke up in the morning and realised the floor had been covered with water; our ipad (left on the floor during that night) was malfunctioning; and our suede shoes were destroyed. Though the manager of the hotel transferred us to another room (which was slightly bigger than the old one), he was unwilling to compensate us for the shoes, and also pretended that nothing had happened regarding the ipad! Eventually, we left the ipad dry for 2 days and we were lucky enough that the ipad started working again...Nevertheless, that was not the case for the charger (which had been submerged into water). Only after our complaints, did the manager of Sun Rocks finally agree to replace the charger for the ipad (the cost of the charger was trivial compared to the price we were paying for the room). The manager of Sun Rocks also informed us -to our surprise- that he could have transferred us back to the old flooded room (after the staff had cleaned it); and mentioned that this would have been the standard practice in the hotel (as if we were responsible for what had happened in the first place)! This is certainly not the kind of customer service you expect from a luxury hotel (or any hotel). We understand unexpected things may happen; but on such occasions, it is the hotel that needs to take full responsibility for the inconvenience caused to the customers; also treat customers with respect; and certainly compensate them for any losses due to flooding. There are several other wonderful hotels in Firostefani; we suggest you pick one of those, instead of Sun Rocks, just to be safe your room will not be flooded and get the customer service you deserve (and pay for).
