Overall a very good experience. Great location with convenient transaportaion options, close to restaurants and great views of caldera, ocean and setting sun. The rooms are very modern and the views from room balcony are fantastic. The shower was little tricky without a stall or curtain but was manageable. Hotel doesn't provide airport transfer but taxis are easily available (Katerina can book taxi for return) and there is no breakfast served.

Good location with convenient transportation and excellent view of caldera and sunset. The enthusiastic hotel owner provided a wonderful service during our stay there. The only problem is there is no wall-mount shower holder in our bathroom, so we had to hold the shower by hand. Anyway it definitely is the best choice in our trip, and I look forward to visiting there next time.

Second year I have stayed here and it is wonderful. Katerina waited up until 2:30 am for us to arrive from a later ferry! The rooms are all very modern, spotlessly clean and most have very nice views. Very very comfortable.

Will be back soon.

J

Room Tip: Any room with terrace is wonderful, however all are clean and bright.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gaby's. It is located overlooking the caldera with wonderful views of the ocean, the setting sun and a beautiful blue roof church. Everything was in excellent condition and we had several delightful evenings having our "sundowners" on the balcony with the gorgeous views of the water traffic, the cliffs and surrounding islands. Rooms are equipped with a fridge, electric kettle, coffee and tea and dishes and silverware. The caldera footpath is in front and you can walk on it to the old town area on one side or all the way to Oia (3 hours) on the other. I look forward to visiting Gaby's again sometime.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Gaby's this week. It is located on the caldera (the gorgeous cliffs dropping down to the ocean) with an incredible view of the ocean and the sun setting over it. After walking around the island, this was the best sunset we found. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and cafés. The proprietor, Catarina, was helpful at recommending restaurants, ATV rental companies, etc. There is also silverware and dishes in the room, along with a fridge and an electrical kettle.

A few notes: there are technically two "Gaby Apartments" on the island. Our cab driver didn't know which we meant. One is on the street and one is on the caldera (I have no idea what the one on the street is, or if it's affiliated). If you take a cab, specify "Firastefani" (the pedestrian area it is located in) and "on the caldera". That should help! Second, our "double" bed was actually two single beds pushed together.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars for the room rather than 5 is that it was a bit bare. But, it was only €130 for two nights, with a private balcony view of a killer sunset... Overall, I'd say this is a fantastic view from a very clean room for an affordable price. Recommended.
