“Spiros - Quite possibly the best hotelier ever'”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2009

You arrive at Zorzis and the first thing you notice is the front garden full of beautiful red geraniums. This is the brightest most colourful display of flowers you will probably see on the island. Stepping up to the hotel you notice the pink oleander, then bright purple bouganvilla growing along the while walls. Next the scent of jasmine flowers smelling so sweet. Stepping into the hotel you notice its bright, white and immaculately clean. There is not a thing out of place at this hotel or a speck of dust to be found. Again the smell is wonderful and I wonder what could be making it smell so nice (later discover the pot pourri) I would describe the hotel as a small (think its 8 rooms) boutique, charming hotel.
The rooms are of fair size, equipped with Satelite TV, fridge, safety deposit box and air conditioning - All at No Charge. All rooms have balcony. Bathrooms are modern, nice tiles, sink and shower - and again most importantly super clean,
Rooms are cleaned daily a fresh towels provided daily.

Facilities; The pool and Jacuzzi area is good size, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. There is no bar at Zorzis, which I actually found to be one of the best things (no drunk / loud people to worry about spoiling your peace and quiet ) For people who like a drink though there is a really nice bar next door run by very friendly people with reasonable prices (2 euros beer / 3 euros cocktails). Spiros (the owner) is happy for you to bring anything you buy in the supermarket into the hotel. The hotel offers unlimited free Wifi.

Location; The location couldnt be better. Its on the main road in Perissa. Bus stop out the front, 100 mtrs or so to supermarket, and tavernas, 10 mtr walk to bar next door and short stroll to the beach and waterfront tavernas. Perissa is so much cheaper than the other resorts on Santorini for eating and drinking. In Perissa expect to pay 3.50 euros for Greek salad whereas Thira and Oia you can expect to pay 7.50 plus. A glass of beer 2 euros in Perissa, In Thira and Oia expect to pay 6 !
Every evening we would wonder back to the hotel and there would be Spiros (the owner of Zorzis) sitting on the veranda enjoying the warm evening air - he would always asked me and my husband if we'd like to join him which we always did and before long other guests at the hotel would join us too. Before long there would be a group of us strangers, chatting away, having a few drinks and great time. These evenings were the nicest thing and reminded me of my backpacking days where you'd be sitting round sharing stories with people you'd never met before.

Spiros is absolutely the best hotelier ever. He too gave us the feeling that we had been friends for a long time and when it was time to leave we felt sad. He really is the nicest, friendliest man and welcomes everyone like a friend. My sister was married in Santorini and even though he hadnt met her he gave us a bottle of wine to give to her !
I think 1 week in Santorini was enough for me and my husband and were not the kind of people who holiday in the same place twice but I have a feeling that one day soon we will be sitting with Spiros again on his veranda enjoying an Ouzo or two.

A lovely hotel with a charming owner/host. The rooms/bathrooms and balconies are beautifully designed. Spiros was always around to answer questions about transport and sightseeing - and discuss the weather! The swimming pool and garden are lovely and so well looked after. It was a wonderful added bonus to come back after a meal in the evening and sit on the terrace, drink wine/ouzo and chat with Spiros and the other guests.

Really very little we can add to the previous reviews. This is a lovely hotel which met all our expectations. Ex Captain Spiros is a great character, always welcoming and helpful from breakfast time until the friendly offer of "a little glass of wine" on our return from a local restaurant in the evening. Rooms and pool spotless and towels changed daily. As a previous contributor commented some of the big hotel chains could learn a lot from him !

We stayed for 10 days after reading the trip advisor reviews. Zorzis is extremely clean and well maintained, the garden is beautiful and the view from the pool is amazing. Spiros is such a great host and is on hand for anything we required without feeling intrusive. He often sits outside with other guests sharing some wine of an evening which gives a great warm feel to the place and shows how much everyone else enjoys their stay. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day. The rooms are very clean and light; the only semi-negative points about the room was that it had 2 single beds rather than a double and the balcony we had was facing sideways so you dont get to see the view or get much sunshine. Both of these things are dependant on the room you get (we were in room 2) and they are very minor. Perissa is a small town/village with loads of really great resturaunts (Acropolis was our favourite) which were really cheap - about 20 euros for two people with wine. The beach is fantastic and the loungers are free. If you do stay here i would recomend hiring a quadbike and seeing the sunset from Oia which is about 1 hour away or get the bus from outside Bob's bar (about 15 yards from the hotel). Spiros is proud of the hotel and as you can see from the TA reviews he's quite right to be so.

Stayed only one night, but it was great. Located about a 10 minute walk from bus stop - however there is a closer stop (~5 minutes) if you let the bus driver know where you want to get off. <10 minute walk to the black sand beach and all the great tavernas on the beach.
Hotel has be renovated to give it a great updated look. Rooms were bright and clean. Pool area was so nice too. Owner was pleasant to talk and very helpful in finding us like the only taxi driving working that morning to get us to the port!
Breakfast was simple and delicious.

We spent a very relaxing and enjoyable 12 nights at Hotel Zorzis this May. The hotel is maintained to an exceptionally high standard and is very contemporary in style which provides a very light, sunny and airy atmosphere. The bedrooms and bathrooms are kept very clean and have everything you need with a nice balcony. The pool and jacuzzi area is very inviting and relaxing. Spiros is absolutely lovely and goes out of his way to ensure that his guests are happy during their stay. Hotel Zorzis offers excellent value for money but the thing that makes the hotel truly exceptional is that Spiros (former Captain) is at its "helm". We are looking to return as soon as we possibly can.
