“Perfect location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2013 via mobile

We stayed here in September 2013 and it was perfect for our stay.
The beach, as others have said is just 5 paces across the road. It is a volcanic black sand beach which we didn't go onto until our last day.

We hired a Smart Crossblade and toured the island every day and it is really nice to get back to a hotel that is not only pedestrianised in the evenings but has a sea breeze in the mornings and night.

The prominade is full of restaurants and cafes although try the Ceasar salad in the Sellada and avoid the 'Thai curry' next door as it is like vomit on a plate.

Very clean hotel, everything works and is hotel 'spotless' unlike some photos of showers and taps in other hotels.

If this is your first time to Santorini we advise that you hire a car (a Crossblade is so much fun) and have them meet you at the airport. We took a GPS and used it on the first night to get to the hotel but it spent the rest of the holiday in the bag. The island is so small that within two days you will have travelled all of the main roads so will not get lost.

A hotel on this side of the island is far better than the crowded, tourist shop laden west side and the Sellada is a nice, clean, friendly hotel with nice food.

The breakfast can be monotonous but after the first evening meal of a gyros plate, we didn't feel too hungry in the morning so just had continental breakfast of ham and cheese on lovely tasting bread and Illy coffee from the bar.
We well recommend this hotel.

We had a one bedroom apartment, which was great, with a comfortable bed and terrace overlooking the bar area. The chamber maid did an excellent job and everything was very clean.
Breakfast was excellent, though it did become a little repetitive after 14 days! and the bar lunches were good.
Bar staff (Manu and Laura) friendly and efficient - lovely people.
Wonderful atmosphere, beach a few paces over the road, the pool is bigger than it looks, though it was a bit on the chilly side the day we tried it, so we used the sea instead!
A family run hotel, and we must say that Kostas was extremely helpful. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay there and would highly recommend Sellada Beach Hotel/Apartments.
The only down side is that the Visanto bar next door had live music on Wednesdays and Sundays. We had no problem with the music, but we understand that they were supposed to finish around midnight. Selfishly they carried on until 1.30 am at very high volume, totally ignoring the fact that it might upset people in neighbouring accommodation - fine if you want to listen to music but extremely upsetting if you want to sleep!

Stayed 5 nights at this small family run hotel and really enjoyed our time there. The hotel is in a good location with many restaurants and bars either side. The beach is 5 paces across the small road (which is pedestrianised at night) and is clean with many sunbeds and cabanas. Our apartment was bright and spacious with a large veranda. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the staff at the hotel were really nice and friendly. Mano and Laura were great in the bar/restaurant and Mano was happy to bring food and drinks to the beach. A perfect place to relax

This was our 3rd time to Perissa but a first for this hotel although we had, had breakfast/lunch here many times before stayed for 1 week from Tuesday 3rd September and it is a lovely hotel very up market for Greece at first we stayed in room 3 which was a nice 2 room apartment with a small kitchen, very good shower and nice deco then half way through changed to room 10 which was again very nice and more to our taste as it was 1 big room with a couch, fridge and the bed again excellent shower with glass doors no water going every where big bonus, the breakfast excellent bread rolls, with jams, butter, cereal, omelette/scrambled eggs with bacon/ham mixed in, yogurt, fresh fruit , water melon tea, coffee, fresh orange juice, what more do you need the swimming pool does get the sun all day well it did when we was there looks very small on the pictures but when there it is quiet big and well it served it purpose a welcoming cool down after baking all day, we also ate dinner/lunch there every day again very good food the gyros plate is a must so are the pizzas and burgers which we normally don't eat food like that why go to Greece and have a burger but they are worth having all very fresh not like at home, the cocktails, wine all very nice and Mano (the bar guy) and sorry didn't get the blonde hair girls name both very nice and provided us with excellent service all the time never had to wait organised for the football to be on etc, etc. Would I go again the answer all ready looking for next year, loved it x

Room Tip: If you want open plan sort of room ask for a room at the back over looking the pool.

Loved this Hotel and the situation directly across from the Beach was perfect. I thought it may be too far away from Oia etc but so easy to get on a bus to see the other towns and we felt like we could really relax here. The staff, especially our housemaid was so wonderful and friendly. Couldnt do enough for you. Bar staff fantastic and delivered drinks to you on the sunloungers! The only trouble I had was getting my huge suitcase up the stairs but otherwise beautiful and would definately stay here again. Clean and fresh rooms, really interesting local shops and wonderful friendly people.

Room Tip: we were up on the second floor with a lovely view of the ocean from our terrace, highly recommend th...

Sellada Beach Hotel
13 to 24 July 2013

Received a warm welcome from Kostas, initially our first impression of the hotel was that we had made a good choice and this feeling continued throughout our holiday. Although the room was quite small it was more than adequate as every room has a balcony. The hotel is exceptionally clean, with daily change of quality linens, towels and bedding. It was a small compliment of staff with Kostas, Mano and Sofia working in the bar area. mother looking after the kitchen with her assistant and another lady who looks after the rooms, not forgetting Daniel who looked after the pool, they all work extremely hard to make your stay enjoyable. We used the sunbeds on the beach adjacent to the hotel, which were freely available if you used the facilities of the bar. The breakfast became a bit repetitive after 11 days, but still it was very nice. I would definitely recommend the Sellada. Many thanks to Kostas and the team, truly wonderful, Sue & Denis.

Santorini Island
We had a fabulous holiday. I would say we made the right choice is staying at the beach and exploring the rest of the island from this base. The public transport was excellent with plenty of coaches at regular intervals, but I understand they may not be as regular in low season. We hired a quad bike for a day to explore the island, this is the first time we have ever drove on the right, but if you're going to do it then Santorini is the place as it is not so busy and the locals are courteous.
