Pre-booked and paid two months in advance, with full confirmation of the hotel booking received. However on our arrival on Wednesday night we were met by the owner of the hotel, who explained the hotel was fully booked and we would have to stay at another hotel further away from the resort. We were promised by the owner that we could come back to the Orion on Friday. Friday came and went and we were informed that we would have to stay until Saturday, On Saturday the owner of the hotel informed us that there was still no room and couldn't confirm when we could go to the Orion, admitting it was his fault and that he was solely to blame. "Sorry" was the only pathetic excuse he could come up with. We were not the only ones caught up in this situation, at least another four sets of guests were also messed around like this on our arrival and this was the trend throughout our stay.
Due to the unreliability of the Orion and its owner and the fact we were only on holiday for a week, we took up the kind offer of the Mon Repos Hotel which we had been forwarded to and stayed the rest of the week there to minimize our disruption and disappointment.
This is the first review I have ever written and firmly believe you get out of your holiday what you put into it. However to see the disappointment on the faces of the other people and children being messed around, on what should be a special time I feel deserves a true reflection on how this hotel and it's owner operates "no remorse" at all.

We had prepaid our stay at the hotel and still they did not have a room for us. We had to stay the first night at another low-quality hotel. The same happened also to other visitors. To compensate this, owner of Orion Hotel promised free breakfast for our stay (it's not included in the room price). Half-way through our stay, the owner contacted us and told that he only meant one breakfast and we would need to pay the rest. After a long fight, we were able to settle this with other hotel staff, because the owner did not speak much English. The whole case was handled in very unfriendly manner and that ruined one day of our vacation.

We had cockroaches in our room. Also, kitchen appliances in our room were not working, and they were not fixed during the whole week, although reception promised so. The rooms are quite noisy - we had party people next door and were waken up at 4 a.m. many times.

The only thing we can recommend is the pool and pool restaurant.

We were on holiday in Lindos but wanted to go back to Faliraki for one night to reminiss from a previous holiday. We went to the reception and asked Mark the manager about booking a room for one night, he was very friendly and more than helpful, the rooms are clean and adequate for one night or a longer stay with air conditioning in the room at no extra charge. The pool is open until midnight (very unusual but welcome) and the pool bar is open until whenever. We strongly recommend this hotel and will visit again if we ever go back to Rhodes.

Room Tip: Ask for north facing room as the sun does not heat the rooms up as much.

great hotel with a brilliant holiday vibe. pool and pool bar were by far one of the best in faliraki, food was excellent and reasonable and catered for all ages. the rooms are very basic but cleaned everyday except from a sunday. maria and paul who run the pool bar are great and nothing is too much trouble. free wifi in bar and around the pool area which was a god send for my two teenagers. everything is in walking distance (beach, shops, restaurants) this hotel really is excellent value for money.

Well I'm sat here now waiting for transfer home from Orion Hotel gutted as I write this review.

This hotel is a family run 3* hotel where the staff really do go the extra mile to ensure your stay here is fantastic. I've recently read some middle of the road reviews of this hotel on tripadvisor which are unjustified. This is my second visit in as many years and will not be my last (roll on next year).

The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with all you need on holiday. No there is no swinging chandeliers what some people expect, but then again it's an excellent 3* NOT a 5*. But there are comfy beds, air conditioning, nice bathroom and pleasantly decorated and cleaned to a very high standard 6 days a week.

The pool area is very attractive with free sun beds and a lovely pool bar which Maria runs from early morning till late at night. The atmosphere down there is brilliant under the red hot Greek sun. The food and drink served by Maria and her team is excellent quality and reasonably priced. Maria is an absolute credit to this hotel and can not do enough for you in the bar. Saying that all the staff are the same at this family resort hotel.

Please do not be put off thinking Faliraki is an 18-30 club resort it's a beautiful family resort with great amenities. Ask Mark on front desk at Orion when you get there on local amenities he is a wealth of knowledge.

Thanks Mark & Orion hotel for another brilliant holiday.

Don't expect the morical coming to Orion. It is a very basic hotel, however it is a good value for the money you pay for it. The rooms are big, cleaning was fair, location is great. I personally did not like the food at all: poor choice at breakfast and choice between two dishes at dinner (like in airplane :)). If food was better would rate the hotel higher.
