“An enjoyable holiday!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2012

We returned from The Cyprotel last week and I must say we had a very enjoyable holiday. My first impressions were not too good as I had e mailed the hotel in advance to request a first floor room and we were given ground floor. (Not sure why as they were not busy.)

Despite this we had a lovely time. The grounds are lovely and very well maintained, the new water park was immaculate and the staff were very friendly and kind to us while we were there. The food was excellent with a huge amount of choice and a lot being freshly cooked throughout the evening. The animation team worked very hard and even though we were not interested in this it was nice for those who wanted to be involved.

I can't say I really noticed any renovation work going on, I saw a couple of decorators outside some of the rooms but didn't experience and noise or disruption and all ofthe facilities were in use.
I think this hotel provided a good service and we were very pleased with our holiday.

This hotel has great friendly staff, good food, good drinks, a magnificent view from the restaurant terrace. There is ongoing renovation taking place but it doesn't interfere with anyone. The rooms that have been modernised are very nice. We stayed in the new blocks and the room was large, clean and well maintained. The animation was a bit hit and miss but there was never more than 25% capacity of guests when we stayed. The upstairs bar area does need refurbishing but the outside terrace is nice. The weather was in the 80's in the first week of June and the asir con is not switched on until June 15th. It is a 10 minute walk to either the beach or bar street. There is free wifi in the reception area. The animation pool is clean and large, the newly built water park is excellent, Hatem the lifeguard will talk to you all day if you let him.

I stayed at the Cyprotel (formerly Luca Cypria) from 19th - 30th May with my friend and 10 month old baby and can honestly say that, apart from the ongoing building work its actually a lovely hotel with great staff so please, if you're going to this hotel make your own judgement once you get there. Yes the building work does take the edge off however, with the current economic challenges in Greece I'm sure you'll understand that to enable the hotel to complete the refurbishments etc they need guests to arrive so they have the money to pay the workmen. I'm not sure what people expect from a 4 star in Greece, the food was lovely and something different every day and I never once had a problem with the plastic beakers around the pool (great for safety so there's no broken glass around the pool area). The hotel has lovely garden areas and pineapple, banana, orange, lemon, coconut trees but I'm not sure how you could stop leaves blowing into the pools other then cut the trees down - then people would complain that its like a concrete village. Like I said, there is ongoing work but this never goes on past 6pm. As for beach towels being provided, no brands being available in the bars and no bottled water, again I'm not sure what people want from a package holiday all inclusive break but I've not had this on any of the trips I've taken to 4 star properties in Greece or Spain. Enjoy your holiday and come to your own conclusion as I did after reading the reviews prior to my break.

Room Tip: The rooms opposite the waterpark are the brand new refurbished rooms, however more may have been com...

The Cyprotel Faliraki or as previously known The Lucas, changed names due to the bad reviews etc LOL. We are still on holiday and thought it better to give people a view now rather than when we get back.
The good points
 The weather is great
 Only 10 minutes walking into Faliraki, bar street etc
 Food is ok, limited choice, but well cooked and hot
 It’s not busy so you can get a sun lounger and food without queuing
 Things for kids to do, water slides, kids club

The bad points:
 It’s definitely not 4 star
 The drinks are very poor, no branded spirits or larger, local stuff only, all the cocktails taste the same, just a different colour
 Around the pool the plastic beakers are chipped, broken and in very poor condition so bring your own cup
 Bring your own beach/pool towel as non are provided
 Towels in the room are old and in poor condition, bring your own
 The hotel is half derelict with half the rooms in a poor state of repair or condition
 The grounds are not maintained at all, long grass, leaves in the pool, trees overgrowing
 Only one plug socket in the room
 Safety deposit box is 15 Euro per week
 No bottled water available in all inclusive
 Air con in rooms not on till July/Aug, but we managed to get our working somehow, other people we spoke to had no air con
 All inclusive finishes at 00:30hrs
 All inclusive says “snacks available all day” this consists of cheese & ham rolls only

Dear Guests, Thank you for your review,
We would like to inform you that:
The hotel changes the name to Cyprotel, which was the original name before 2004, after the completion of the contract with the external management company and not for the bad comments. The hotel is now renovated and has more facilities (e.g. the new water park).
All building works for the winter renovation as well as for the new water park are finished and the hotel is fully operational.
In the brochure is clear that the drinks are local produced and the plastic glasses at the pool are obligatory for safety reasons.
Grass is mowed on a regularly basis, but some causes are natural (falling leaves).
The air-conditioning is central operated from 15/06-15/09 according brochure, although we started it on the 11th of June due to weather conditions.
The snacks which are available at the snack bar are: pizza, cheese pies, sausage pies, and a variety of sandwiches.
All inclusive starts at 07:30hrs and finishes at 00:00hrs midnight.
Thanking you again for your comments and we hope that we will welcome you once again at the Cyprotel Faliraki.
